Position Overview
The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is seeking an experienced PMO Project Manager to support its enterprise-wide SAP S/4HANA Wave 2 enhancement initiative. The role involves managing multiple project workstreams, coordinating system integrations and business dependencies, maintaining project governance, and ensuring deliverables, schedules, and budgets align with organizational priorities.
Required Skills
- 10+ years of project management experience across projects of varying sizes and subject areas.
- Experience managing high-profile vendors across on-premises and cloud environments.
- Experience managing Enterprise Business Solutions, specifically SAP/ERP projects.
- Experience managing multi-year projects.
- Expert-level proficiency in creating and maintaining integrated project plans using Microsoft Project or MS Project Online.
- Strong leadership, conflict management, negotiation, communication, and risk management skills.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate internal and external teams across multiple IT projects.
- Develop and maintain integrated project plans, schedules, milestones, deliverables, dependencies, and critical paths.
- Estimate and monitor project costs and budgets throughout the project lifecycle.
- Plan resource allocation and perform resource capacity forecasting.
- Establish and maintain project governance frameworks, roles, responsibilities, escalation paths, and decision-making processes.
- Define and refine project scope with business owners and analysts.
- Manage the full project lifecycle, from initiation and planning through execution, monitoring, control, and closure.
- Coordinate with system integrator project managers and teams across interconnected projects.
- Maintain project documentation, approvals, sign-offs, and lessons learned.
- Build strong relationships with IT teams, business stakeholders, vendors, project sponsors, and executive leadership.
- Follow PA Turnpike PMO standards, procedures, and project management methodologies.
SAP Environment
The environment includes:
- SAP S/4HANA
- SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)
- SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC)
- SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP)
- SAP Datasphere
- SAP Service and Asset Manager (SSAM)
Integrated systems include: SAP SuccessFactors, SmartDocs, OnBase, AgileAssets, ServiceNow, Qlik Sense, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Kahua, financial institutions, benefit providers, and Commonwealth of Pennsylvania systems.
Important Notes
- Primarily remote, with onsite attendance required one week per month, plus additional onsite meetings, implementations, or support as needed.
- Onsite locations include the PA Turnpike Central Administration Building and Turnpike Industrial Park in Middletown, PA.
- Candidates must attend a full-day onsite orientation and personally collect assigned equipment. Equipment will not be shipped.
- Candidates must be able to reach the PA Turnpike work location within 3 hours in case of an emergency.
- Travel costs for candidates within a 3-hour commuting distance are included in the rate; no additional compensation is provided.
- Travel reimbursement, when applicable, follows GSA guidelines and must be submitted within 60 days with receipts.
- HireRight/ePATCH and a National Criminal Background Check are required.
- Onboarding requires 5–7 business days. Issued equipment must be returned within two weeks of offboarding.
- Camera use and professional appearance are required during virtual meetings.
- Overtime requires prior approval.
Screening Questions
- Do you have 10+ years of project management experience, including SAP/ERP enterprise projects, vendor management, multi-year projects, and expert-level Microsoft Project skills? Do you hold a PMP certification?
- Are you willing to work remotely with onsite attendance in Middletown, PA, one week per month and as needed, including attending onsite orientation and collecting equipment in person?
- Do you accept the requirement to complete both Pennsylvania ePATCH and National Criminal Background Checks?
