About the company
Our client is a creative agency and brand studio based in Los Angeles. Its founders host a longform interview podcast and YouTube show. This role supports the studio’s own-brand content and is the team’s highest-priority hire. Production happens on the ground in LA. Post-production is fully remote.
About the role
We’re looking for a Remote Story Producer who can turn longform interview episodes into compelling stories. You’ll own story development from start to finish: guest research, interview preparation, episode structure and editor briefs. You’ll work closely with the Producer on creative direction, and the Founder gives final creative sign-off.
What you’ll do
- Find the strongest story threads, moments and quotes in interview transcripts and footage
- Develop episode angles, beat sheets and chapter structures, including cold opens, intros and chapter titles
- Write clear editor briefs and story cut transcripts with timecodes, key moments and creative guidance
- Research guests and build interview question flows with the talent and booking lead
- Support editors through post-production and review cuts for story flow, accuracy and creative alignment
- Turn feedback into refined story materials, and work with the packaging team on hooks and supporting content
- Own story deliverables and deadlines, give proactive progress updates and help improve story templates
What you’ll bring
- 2+ years as a Story Producer, Associate Producer, Development Producer or Story Editor on podcasts, docuseries, unscripted or branded longform content
- A portfolio of beat sheets, story outlines or editor briefs for interview-driven content
- Strong editorial judgment: you can shape a 60–120 minute conversation into a clear, engaging narrative
- Excellent written and spoken English and strong attention to detail
- Reliable deadline management and a proactive communication style when working remotely across time zones
- Availability to work US/Pacific hours on a sustained, full-time basis
Nice to have
- Podcast industry and/or YouTube experience (strongly preferred)
- Familiarity with Premiere Pro, Frame.io, Descript, AI writing tools such as Claude, and Airtable or similar trackers
- Knowledge of YouTube hooks, titles, thumbnails and audience retention
- Guest research or booking experience
