PowerBuilder Developer

We are looking for an experienced PowerBuilder Developer to join a project for one of our clients in the financial sector. You will support the development, evolution and maintenance of business-critical enterprise applications built on PowerBuilder, in a financial markets context.

What you will do

• Develop, maintain and evolve enterprise applications in PowerBuilder
• Analyse functional requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Develop and optimise SQL queries, Stored Procedures and database objects
• Debug, troubleshoot and optimise application performance
• Support production deployments and resolve incidents within agreed SLAs
• Work closely with business, project management, QA and other technical teams
• Take part in code reviews and follow development best practices
• Write technical documentation and deployment guides
• Estimate effort for development and evolution activities
• Provide technical guidance to less experienced developers when needed

What we are looking for

• 5+ years of professional experience as a PowerBuilder Developer, with solid knowledge of PowerScript, DataWindow and DataStores
• Strong experience with relational databases and SQL, including Stored Procedures, query optimisation and database tuning
• Proven experience on Financial Markets projects (mandatory)
• Knowledge of financial instruments and the Trade Lifecycle
• Experience in application support, troubleshooting and incident resolution in critical production environments
• Experience with Git
• Knowledge of N-tier architectures
• Strong analytical, communication and technical documentation skills
• Fluent English, C1 level (spoken and written)

Nice to have

• Experience with recent PowerBuilder versions (2019/2022)
• Experience in upgrade, migration or modernisation projects
• Knowledge of Web Services and integrations (REST/SOAP, JSON/XML)
• Experience with Agile/Scrum and CI/CD practices

Work model

• Location: Lisbon, Portugal
• Hybrid: 2 days per week on-site
