Presales Engineer

About the Role

SMART Technology Solutions is a KSA-based provider of IT, cybersecurity, and digital transformation solutions.

We are building a presales and bid management team in Egypt to support our government and enterprise opportunities in Saudi Arabia.

As a Presales Engineer, you will manage the bid process from identifying relevant tenders on Etimad and Forsa to preparing compliant technical and commercial proposals.

Key Responsibilities

RFP Sourcing and Bid Qualification

• Monitor Etimad (اعتماد) and Forsa (فرصة) for relevant tenders
• Assess each opportunity based on eligibility, scope, capability, competition, and deadlines
• Support bid and no-bid decisions with clear recommendations
• Maintain an updated opportunity tracker and bid calendar
• Ensure no qualified opportunity or submission deadline is missed

Proposal Development

• Prepare technical and commercial proposals in Arabic and English
• Review RFP requirements and build compliance checklists
• Turn technical input into clear and persuasive proposal content
• Coordinate contributions from IT Solutions, Cybersecurity, IT Projects, and other teams
• Ensure each submission meets all documentation, formatting, and platform requirements
• Develop a reusable content library covering company information, case studies, team profiles, certifications, and standard responses

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Work with SMART’s sales and technical teams in Saudi Arabia to define proposed solutions
• Confirm the technical approach, scope, deliverables, and assumptions before submission
• Coordinate with Finance to obtain pricing and commercial inputs
• Identify capability, resource, or timeline gaps at an early stage
• Support leadership with the information needed to make bid decisions
• Track required inputs and follow up with stakeholders until submission

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field
• 2 to 5 years of experience in presales, bid management, proposal writing, or technical sales support
• Experience within IT services, cybersecurity, digital transformation, or public-sector tendering
• Strong Arabic and English writing skills
• Ability to prepare formal proposals in both languages
• Strong technical writing and document-structuring skills
• Ability to explain technical solutions in clear client-focused language
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple bids and fixed submission deadlines
• Based in Cairo and able to coordinate each day with SMART’s KSA team

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of Etimad and Forsa
• Experience with supplier registration and qualification through Etimad
• Understanding of IT services or cybersecurity solutions
• Experience using CRM, tender-management, or bid-tracking tools
• Experience preparing proposals for Saudi government or enterprise clients
