Prescribing Pharmacist – Remote

We’re looking for a driven Prescribing Pharmacist to join Phlo’s clinical team, delivering safe, evidence-based online prescribing across weight management, men’s health, women’s health and general health. This is a full-time, permanent role, primarily working remotely, with occasional in-person sessions in either London or Manchester, with travel expenses covered. Your working pattern will be predominantly weekdays, alongside participation in a shared weekend rota across the clinical team.

Reporting to a Lead Prescribing Pharmacist, you’ll be an integral member of our clinical team, reviewing consultations and applying sound clinical judgement to deliver safe, effective and accessible patient-centred care.

The Job

On a day-to-day basis, you’ll be involved in the following:

• Reviewing consultations and prescribing treatments across men’s health, women’s health and weight management, using agreed protocols and clinical pathways
• Prescribing and reviewing medicines for therapeutic effectiveness, in line with evidence-based practice, company protocols and your own scope of practice
• Identifying and escalating clinical concerns promptly, keeping patient safety as the highest priority
• Prioritising, organising and managing your own workload through our Prescribing Portal in a way that maintains and promotes quality
• Supporting patients with adherence to their treatment, using clear and sensitive communication so they are fully informed
• Helping to create and develop clinical pathways - always thinking about what new treatments we could safely offer patients
• Working with the governance team and contributing to clinical governance and safety meetings with the prescribing team

The Person

Ideally, we’re looking for someone with the following:

• A GPhC-registered pharmacist with an Independent Prescriber annotation
• Prescribing experience in one or more of our core areas (men’s health, women’s health or weight management) and a willingness to expand your scope of practice in line with regulatory requirements
• Sound clinical judgement and a strong commitment to patient safety, with a clear understanding of when and how to escalate concerns
• A good understanding of clinical governance, including acting with honesty and openness when errors occur and knowing how to report them
• Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to work effectively within the clinical team and across other areas of the business
• Well organised and self-motivated, comfortable managing your own workload in a remote, digital environment
• Experience of online or remote prescribing and an understanding of the commercial needs of private healthcare would be advantageous

We’re headquartered in the Onyx building on Bothwell St in Glasgow City Centre. While this role is predominantly remote, we support a blend of in-person collaboration and flexible remote working.
