Job Description:

Protect, control and optimise the commercial performance of bp’s Roadchef relationship through robust pricing, financial control, reporting and performance management across EV charging, fuels and Wild Bean Café.

This is a critical role supporting one of bp’s most strategic motorway dealer relationships. The Pricing & Performance Analyst – Roadchef will provide the commercial-financial control, analytical insight and process rigour needed to meet contractual requirements and drive account performance.

Working closely with the Motorway Key Account & Optimisation Manager, the role will turn pricing inputs, contractual mechanisms and site-level data into accurate outputs, clear insight and practical actions. It leads the analytical control, commercial inputs, reporting and performance insight needed to optimise the Roadchef account, while supporting rather than leading the strategic partner relationship.

What you will be accountable for:

Commercial and contractual performance control

Provide the commercial control and oversight needed to ensure Roadchef’s contractual obligations across EV, fuels and WBC are understood, supervised and translated into effective account performance.

  • Maintain a contract-performance tracker covering key obligations, dates, inputs, outputs, risks and trigger points.
  • Analyse commercial performance against contractual requirements, identifying risks, opportunities and actions to improve performance.
  • Maintain the analytical control framework and commercial inputs and outputs needed for governance, decision-making and margin protection. Final commercial decisions remain with the appropriate accountable leads.
  • Coordinate with Finance, Pricing, Billing, Data, Legal and operational teams to validate outputs and resolve material discrepancies or control issues.

Commercial-financial controls and margin management

Ensure agreement-specific pricing, cost and margin requirements are supported by robust commercial-financial controls, providing clear visibility of performance, exposure and emerging risk.

  • Handle the commercial inputs, assumptions, validation and monthly control process for agreement-specific pricing and wholesale-cost mechanisms.
  • Establish controlled processes for calculating, validating and running contractual pricing, cost and margin requirements.
  • Track performance against contractual pricing and margin constraints, maintaining visibility of headroom, exposure and commercial risk.
  • Call out emerging margin or contractual performance risks with clear evidence and recommended actions.
  • Ensure commercial-financial inputs, calculations and outputs are accurate, consistent, traceable and audit ready.

Pricing execution and performance optimisation

Use pricing and performance insight to optimise commercial outcomes across the Roadchef estate, balancing customer, volume, revenue, margin and contractual considerations.

  • Develop and implement pricing actions within agreed decision rights, recommending exceptions where wider commercial approval is required.
  • Monitor competitor pricing, utilisation, volumes, revenue, margin and performance trends at account and site level.
  • Develop pricing recommendations supported by analysis of customer, volume, revenue, margin and contractual impacts.
  • Support actions that improve utilisation, revenue, margin and customer outcomes across the Roadchef estate.

B2C and B2B commercial-flow management

Provide commercial oversight of B2C and B2B pricing, tariff and revenue flows, ensuring commercial outputs are accurate and issues are identified and resolved effectively.

  • Validate the application of tariffs, billing logic, commercial mechanisms and revenue allocation across channels.
  • Create reconciliation and issue-management routines with Finance, Billing, Pricing & Analytics and the Motorway Key Account & Optimisation Manager.
  • Investigate discrepancies, coordinate resolution and maintain clear issue, decision and action records.
  • Support commercial output integrity while Finance retains statutory accounting, invoice control and formal financial governance.

Site-level performance insight and decision support

Turn site-level performance data into clear commercial insight, helping identify the drivers of underperformance, risk and value opportunities across the Roadchef estate.

  • Maintain a site-level view of EV utilisation, sessions, kWh, revenue, margin, availability impacts and revenue per bay or charger, alongside relevant fuels and WBC measures.
  • Translate sophisticated data into concise insight, recommendations and action priorities for account reviews and decision-making.
  • Support scenario analysis for pricing, demand, margin, site performance and wider account decisions.

Reporting, governance and audit delivery

Provide consistent, accurate and traceable performance reporting to support Roadchef governance, commercial decision-making and audit requirements.

  • Maintain a repeatable Roadchef performance pack and commercial dashboard covering EV, fuels and WBC, with accurate monthly partner and internal reporting.
  • Provide commercial insight, challenge and recommendations to support governance and performance decisions.
  • Maintain clear records of assumptions, methodologies, source data, material issues, decisions and actions.
  • Support audit queries, contractual data requests and finance or legal reviews with complete, traceable outputs.

Process ownership, scale-up and continuous improvement

Build resilient and repeatable commercial-control processes for Roadchef, improving efficiency as the account scales while creating a model that can support future motorway dealer agreements.

  • Own day-to-day RUN processes for pricing, margin control, commercial-financial validation, reporting and associated controls.
  • Document processes, controls, ownership, hand-offs and decision routes to ensure account delivery is resilient and repeatable.
  • Find opportunities to automate, standardise and simplify recurring RUN processes, reducing manual effort and control risk.
  • Work with Finance to transition appropriate repeatable back-office activities into Finance BAU or FBT as the Roadchef model scales, while retaining commercial insight, pricing and performance accountability within Network Commercial.
