OVERVIEW

ABC Fitness is looking for a Principal HR Business Partner, R&D to partner with our global Engineering and Product leaders as we continue to scale our R&D organization and evolve how we work in an AI-enabled environment.

Based in Hyderabad and reporting to the North America-based Director, HR Business Partner, R&D, and working closely with the Head of HR in India, you will support R&D leaders and teams across India, Ireland, the UK, Spain, and Poland, with particular focus on our growing organizations in India and Poland. You will serve as a strategic advisor to senior Engineering and Product leaders, helping translate business priorities into effective organization design, workforce plans, talent strategies, leadership practices, and change initiatives.

A key part of this role will be partnering with the AI Engineering leaders in India and Poland on the people and organizational dimensions of ABC’s AI transformation. You will help leaders understand how AI-enabled and agentic ways of working are changing roles, capabilities, team structures, workflows, and leadership expectations and turn those changes into practical workforce and talent strategies.

This is an individual contributor role with broad influence across a distributed, global R&D organization. ABC’s HR Business Partner team focuses on workforce strategy, organization design, talent planning, people analytics, leadership effectiveness, and helping leaders adapt roles and operating models as work becomes increasingly AI-enabled.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Serve as the lead HRBP to Engineering and Product leaders across India and Europe, translating business priorities into workforce, organization, talent, and leadership strategies
• Lead and influence organization design, workforce planning, succession, talent reviews, leadership development, performance, engagement, and retention strategies across assigned R&D organizations and advise leaders on evolving ways of working may affect role design, skills, team structures, and workforce planning.
• Coach senior leaders through complex organizational and people decisions, bringing strong judgment, constructive challenge, and practical recommendations.
• Use workforce data, people analytics, engagement signals, and business context to identify organizational risks, capability gaps, talent priorities, and opportunities to improve team effectiveness.
• Partner across Talent Acquisition, Compensation, People Operations, Learning & Development, Finance, Legal, and other People teams to deliver integrated solutions and consistent employee experiences.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

• Demonstrated success as a strategic HRBP supporting senior Engineering, Product, Technology, or R&D leaders in a complex, global organization.
• Strong expertise in workforce planning, talent strategy, succession, leadership effectiveness, performance management, and organizational change.
• Ability to operate as an HR senior advisor, influence without authority, challenge leaders constructively, and translate business strategy into practical people decisions.
• Sound working knowledge of agentic AI principles and concepts, including how AI-enabled tools and agent-based workflows can change roles, skills, decision-making, team design, and human oversight.
• Strong analytical judgment and the ability to use workforce data and business insights to frame problems, identify trends, and recommend action.
• Excellent communication, coaching, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills across seniority levels, cultures, and geographies.
• Ability to work from our Hyderabad office 2–3 days per week and regularly collaborate across European time zones, with some flexibility for overlap with U.S. working hours.

AND IT’S GREAT TO HAVE

• Experience supporting Engineering and Product organizations in a SaaS, technology, platform, or AI-enabled business.
• Experience partnering with leaders in India and European technology markets, particularly Poland.
• Exposure to AI-enabled workforce transformation, role redesign, capability planning, or adoption of new AI-enabled ways of working.
