We're seeking an exceptional Product Engineer who combines strong software engineering fundamentals with product intuition, technical ownership, and a passion for solving complex real-world problems.

What You'll Be Building

You'll work closely with product leaders and business stakeholders to understand operational challenges and translate them into scalable, production-ready software.

Your responsibilities will include:

• End-to-End Product Development: Own features from initial discovery and technical design through backend implementation, frontend development, testing, and deployment.

• AI-Powered Automation: Build intelligent workflows using LLMs and agentic systems to automate complex, traditionally manual business processes.

• Full-Stack Engineering: Develop modern user interfaces, APIs, backend services, and data models that power business-critical applications.

• Workflow & Document Automation: Build capabilities involving document ingestion, PDF generation, data extraction, approvals, and third-party API integrations.

• Business Collaboration: Partner directly with operational stakeholders to understand their challenges, identify automation opportunities, and develop practical solutions.

• Platform Capabilities: Create reusable tools and services that allow business teams to automate and manage their own workflows.

• Engineering Excellence: Write clean, reliable, maintainable code while contributing to architecture, code reviews, testing, and system reliability.

• Product Strategy: Collaborate with product managers and engineering leadership on feature prioritization, technical tradeoffs, and roadmap planning.

The role is approximately 60% hands-on coding, 20% collaboration with business users, and 20% product planning and technical decision-making.

What We're Looking For

Software Engineering Excellence

• 3–6 years of full-time, post-graduation professional software engineering experience.

• Experience working in a high-performing engineering organization with rigorous technical standards, strong code reviews, and established engineering practices.

• Strong computer science fundamentals, problem-solving abilities, and architectural judgment.

• Proven experience developing and shipping production software used by real customers or business teams.

• Experience owning substantial features across backend systems, databases, APIs, and user interfaces.

• A track record of writing maintainable, production-quality software and delivering meaningful technical impact.

Product Engineering & Ownership

• Comfortable taking ownership of features from business requirements through production deployment.

• Experience collaborating with product managers, customers, or non-technical stakeholders.

• Strong product instincts and the ability to translate ambiguous problems into practical technical solutions.

• Ability to balance engineering quality, development speed, and user needs.

• A hands-on mindset and genuine enthusiasm for building products rather than focusing exclusively on architecture or infrastructure.

AI & Modern Development Practices

• Experience developing and shipping production features powered by LLMs, generative AI, or agentic workflows.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot.

• Strong judgment around reviewing AI-generated code and understanding where human oversight is critical.

• An understanding of reliability, security, data integrity, and testing considerations when integrating AI into production applications.

Interview Process

1. Engineering Leadership Interview (45 minutes): Discuss your engineering background, product experience, and approach to AI-assisted development.

2. Technical Interview (60 minutes): Review and evaluate production-style code, identifying opportunities to improve correctness, security, reliability, and maintainability.

3. System Design Interview (60 minutes): Design a scalable software solution based on a realistic business scenario.

4. Product Engineering Interview: Discuss product judgment, user needs, technical tradeoffs, and problem-solving approaches.

5. Final Leadership Interview: Meet senior company leadership to discuss team alignment and long-term career goals.

Additional Information

• This is a hybrid position based in Manhattan, New York City.

• Candidates must be comfortable working in-office three days per week, with the possibility of increasing office attendance in the future.
