Job Description Summary
Vernova PurposeGE Vernova is accelerating the path to more reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy, while helping our customers power economies and deliver the electricity that is vital to health, safety, security, and improved quality of life. Are you excited at the opportunity to electrify and decarbonize the world?
What impact you’ll make
As the Product Lifecycle Risk Leader for Software & Controls Solutions, you will build a new capability that helps protect the long-term availability and supportability of the control systems powering critical energy infrastructure. Your leadership will help strengthen supply resilience, improve product transition planning, and support reliable delivery to GE Vernova customers.
You will guide the lifecycle risk portfolio from identification through closure, bringing forward the decisions, recovery plans, resources, and funding needed to address the highest-impact risks. You will bring together product, engineering, sourcing, materials, finance, and planning teams to identify lifecycle and obsolescence risks earlier, understand their business and customer impact, and guide coordinated mitigation decisions.
Job Description
What you’ll do
- Build and lead the enterprise lifecycle risk management capability, including the operating model, governance framework, enterprise risk register, and continuous improvement roadmap.
- Lead development, calibration, and continuous improvement of risk assessment, scoring, prioritization, and escalation.
- Own the enterprise lifecycle risk and mitigation portfolio, including governance cadence, SIOP (Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning) and leadership escalations, integrated recovery plans, resource and funding alignment, and verified risk closure.
- Partner with Product Management to translate lifecycle risk exposure into informed sustainment, technology refresh, installed-base, and NPI (New Product Introduction) roadmap decisions through fact-based analysis and mitigation recommendations.
- Partner with Engineering on technical assessment, redesign and qualification roadmaps, and capacity planning.
- Partner with Sourcing and Materials to identify and mitigate lifecycle supply risks through supplier intelligence, demand and inventory planning, alternate-source strategies, last-time-buy execution, and supply continuity planning.
- Partner with Finance to validate exposure, investment, spend, business cases, avoided impact, and portfolio reporting.
- Build and govern the lifecycle obsolescence management system, including data standards, portfolio analytics, risk dashboards, and metrics that enable proactive identification, prioritization, escalation, and mitigation of lifecycle risks.
- Develop and coach future team members, including analytics and program-management roles, and build a strong cross-functional community of practice.
What you’ll bring (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain, operations, business, program management, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Extensive experience leading complex programs, portfolios, product lifecycle activities, or supply-risk initiatives in an industrial, energy, electronics, aerospace, defense, or other long-lifecycle product environment.
- Experience coordinating work across engineering, product management, sourcing, supply chain, operations, finance, and senior business stakeholders.
- Experience with one or more of the following: product sustainment, component obsolescence, supplier continuity, material risk, technology transitions, redesign, or new product introduction.
- Demonstrated experience using analytical and business-case methods to translate complex technical or supply information into leadership recommendations and actions.
What will make you stand out
- You have built or scaled a cross-functional capability, program management office, governance process, or portfolio management system.
- You have worked with industrial electronics, controls, embedded systems, or other products that must remain supportable for many years.
- You have experience with component obsolescence, DMSMS (Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages), product sustainment, technology refresh, supplier lifecycle intelligence, or long-term service support.
- You have led redesign, alternate-source qualifications, last time buys, product transitions, or customer migration programs.
- You have used product lifecycle, enterprise resource planning, business intelligence, or supplier risk data to create portfolio insights and leadership decisions.
- You have experience with data governance, risk modeling, dashboards, or portfolio analytics.
