Product management tutor

Role Description This is a remote volunteer role for a Product Management Tutor at Spent Academy. In this role, the tutor will guide learners through core product management concepts, including product discovery, roadmap planning, user research, and lifecycle management. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and delivering online lessons or workshops, reviewing learner assignments, providing constructive feedback, and answering questions via community platforms or scheduled sessions. The tutor will collaborate with the Spent Academy team to refine curriculum materials, suggest improvements based on learner needs, and help foster an engaging, inclusive learning environment. The role may also involve hosting Q&A sessions, sharing best practices from industry experience, and mentoring learners on career paths in product management.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in product management, including areas such as product strategy, user research, backlog management, and roadmap planning.
• Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and accessibly, with experience in teaching, mentoring, coaching, or facilitation in an online environment.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to engage diverse learners and provide constructive, actionable feedback.
• Comfort with remote collaboration tools and learning platforms (e.g., video conferencing, online whiteboards, community forums).
• Commitment to inclusive, learner-centered education and the ability to support individuals from varied backgrounds and levels of experience.
• Relevant academic background or equivalent practical experience in product management, business, technology, or a related field.
• Prior experience in creative, digital, or startup environments is beneficial, as well as familiarity with agile methodologies and cross-functional teamwork.
