Role Description The Product Owner is a full-time, hybrid role based in Tokyo, with the flexibility to work from home part of the time. This role is responsible for defining and prioritising product features, managing the product backlog, and ensuring that development efforts align with business goals and user needs. Day-to-day tasks include gathering and analysing requirements from stakeholders, translating business needs into clear user stories, and collaborating closely with software developers, designers, and business teams. The Product Owner will monitor product performance, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven decisions to refine the roadmap. The role also involves facilitating communication across departments, supporting sprint planning and reviews, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality product enhancements.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Product Management skills, including backlog management, roadmap planning, and stakeholder alignment.
• Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills and Business Analysis capabilities to interpret data, understand requirements, and define measurable product outcomes.
• Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, present product decisions, and document requirements clearly.
• Candidates should possess a good understanding of Software Development processes and Agile methodologies to work efficiently with engineering teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager in technology-driven or B2B service environments, ideally with exposure to international or fintech/trade-related products.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment; business-level English is required, and Japanese language skills are highly beneficial.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
