Show job description

The Product Owner is responsible for managing the product backlog for a dedicated development team and driving features from initial definition through development, release, and client launch. In this role, you will partner closely with engineering, QA, operations, implementation, and client-facing teams to prioritize work, define requirements, and ensure successful product delivery. You will help determine development priorities, remove roadblocks, keep the team focused, and support the delivery of high-quality releases on a consistent and predictable cadence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Backlog Ownership: Own and prioritize the CareTria product backlog; write clear user stories with acceptance criteria that are ready for the team to estimate and commit to.

  • Development Team Execution: Serve as the day-to-day product point of contact for the development team; lead backlog refinement, sprint planning, standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, and accept or reject completed work against acceptance criteria.

  • Release & Launch Management: Drive features through UAT, release, and production support; define release scope and readiness criteria, run go/no-go decisions, and own release notes and internal enablement so operations and client teams are ready before launch.

  • UAT & Quality: Coordinate user acceptance testing with internal operations and client stakeholders, including test planning, defect triage, and sign-off.

  • Requirements & Client Partnership: Gather and validate requirements with operations, account management, implementation, and client stakeholders; represent CareTria capabilities in requirements workshops, configuration reviews, and demos.

  • Prioritization & Trade-offs: Balance client-specific commitments against platform scalability, advocating for configurable solutions over one-off builds, and communicate scope decisions and their rationale clearly.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain a current roadmap and delivery view; report status, risks, and timeline changes to leadership and client teams on a regular cadence, surfacing issues early rather than escalating late.

  • Compliance Awareness: Partner with Quality/Regulatory, Compliance, and Information Security so that requirements and delivered functionality reflect applicable regulatory, privacy, and security obligations.

The above duties are meant to be representative of the position and not all-inclusive.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, Business Analyst, or Technical Project Manager on software development teams.

  • Demonstrated experience owning a backlog for an active development team and shipping releases on a recurring cadence.

  • Strong requirements-writing skills, with the ability to move between business narrative and detailed acceptance criteria.

  • Hands-on experience with Agile delivery and product management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, ClickUp).

  • Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional launches spanning engineering, QA, operations, and external stakeholders.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with credibility in front of both engineers and senior business stakeholders.

  • Comfort operating with incomplete information, making decisions, and adjusting as new information emerges.

  • Ability to adapt and prioritize in a fast-paced environment and take initiative.

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

The expected base pay range for this position is $70,000-110,000 per year. The actual compensation for the position may vary based on market differences and on factors such as skills, experience, qualifications and can vary based on location and/or work schedule. In addition to base pay, CareTria offers a comprehensive benefits package. Full-Time benefits include access to health, dental, and vision insurance; retirement plan options; paid time off; paid parental leave; employee assistance programs; and other perks. Eligible employees may also have access to performance bonuses.

CareTria is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
