Is this job info correct?

Location: Europe (Time zone: CET: +/- 4h) or on-site/hybrid in Hamburg, Germany. We are a remote-first company. About Us Kubermatic is an adaptable and autonomous software delivery startup based in Hamburg (founded 2016). Our tools are built with Kubernetes and cloud-native solutions to deliver the automated, flexible, and resilient infrastructure that modern businesses need to thrive and innovate. We're maintainers of CNCF Sandbox Project kcp and among the leading European corporate contributors to Kubernetes. Our engineering team actively contributes to CNCF projects and open-sources our core products on GitHub. We regularly present at industry conferences and community events. You'll be joining the KDP (Kubermatic Development Platform) team, which brings self-service developer platforms to enterprises. KDP leverages kcp to deliver a novel approach for building multi-tenant platforms. By providing a centralized catalog, it simplifies the creation, integration, and management of services, greatly lowering the operational burden for DevOps, platform, and developer teams. We're a fast-moving startup with a strong engineering culture. If you're excited about experimentation, technology, and making a real impact, you'll thrive here. There's plenty of room for your ideas and growth! Role Summary As a product engineer on our 5-person team, you'll drive features from discovery to delivery and shape architectural and product decisions. You'll engage directly with users to understand their challenges and pain points. We work closely as a team, often pairing on features to deliver high-quality software faster. Our development approach emphasizes tracer-bullet development—getting working solutions in front of customers early—followed by iterative refinement. You'll work primarily in Go, developing Kubernetes operators and high-availability services that power our platform. KDP is currently available as a standalone, on-premises solution, and as we prepare to launch a new SaaS offering, you'll help evolve our tech stack to meet these emerging requirements. What Will You Be Doing? Design, build, and refine KDP features with a focus on user value and technical excellence. Break down implementations into iterative deliverables and determine optimal rollout strategies. Develop scalable services and Kubernetes Operators in Go that power our platform. Own features end-to-end—from discovery through delivery—including direct engagement with users. Stay current with customer challenges and emerging trends in the platform engineering space. Contribute patches to upstream projects such as kcp.io when opportunities arise. Extend the MCP server for KDP and integrate with leading AI tools. Participate in the on-call rotation. What You Should Bring You genuinely enjoy creating tools that make other engineers' lives easier and their work more productive. 3+ years of professional experience with Go and 1+ year working with Kubernetes controllers and operators. Strong proficiency in distributed systems, container technologies, Kubernetes, the cloud-native ecosystem, and AWS (or GCP). Experience building internal developer platforms or infrastructure-as-code solutions using Operators is a big plus. Familiarity with feature flags and progressive delivery practices is beneficial. Ability to collaborate effectively with Product Management and cross-functional stakeholders. Excellent communication skills, a pragmatic problem-solving mindset, genuine curiosity about customer challenges, and empathy for KDP users. What We Offer Competitive salary B2B contracts available, with paid time off annually plus local bank holidays Remote-first: work from anywhere in Europe (CET ±4h) A dynamic yet laid-back team environment Regular hackathons and company offsites Best-in-class development tools of your choice Full support for training and certifications (CKA, Linux Foundation, etc.) and conference attendance Speaker support: we'll back you if you want to present at events Active community involvement: enjoy our meetups and our flagship community conference, ContainerDays Process 1. 30-minute call with our People Manager 2. 30-minute call with the KDP leader 3. Home assignment 4. 90-minute technical interview 5. A 30-minute meeting with Engineering Leadership 6. A 45-minute meeting with Sebastian Scheele (Technical Co-founder and CEO)
