Summary
The Production Control Supervisor is the operational leader responsible for end‑to‑end production lifecycle control across all global suppliers. This role ensures PO accuracy, factory capacity alignment, material readiness, production tracking, QC coordination, and shipment readiness. Acting as the operational “control tower,” the Supervisor provides real‑time visibility, escalates risks, drives corrective actions, and ensures suppliers meet production timelines and documentation requirements.
As the first person in this newly created role, the Supervisor will build the Production Control function from the ground up — defining workflows, creating SOPs, mapping processes, establishing supplier forecasting templates, and partnering directly with the Operations leadership to shape the department’s long‑term structure, tools, and operational maturity.
This role sits within the Transversal Organization, working closely with the CoBrand Manager, QC/QA Supervisor, Product Planning, Inventory Control, Vendors/Suppliers, Warehouse Operations, and Logistics to ensure production readiness, cross‑functional alignment, and seamless execution from vendor → production → warehouse → outbound.
The Supervisor also manages the Logistics Coordinator, ensuring a seamless handoff from production → export → inbound flow. The ideal candidate is detail‑driven, assertive, highly organized, and capable of coordinating across multiple teams to eliminate surprises and protect delivery performance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Function Creation & Operational Design
  • Build the Production Control function from scratch, defining its scope, workflows, and operational standards.
  • Partner with the Operations Leadership to design processes, tools, templates, and governance models.
  • Create supplier forecasting templates, production readiness checklists, and capacity planning tools.
  • Establish documentation standards, reporting formats, and communication cadences for global suppliers.
  • Identify gaps in current processes and implement new structures to stabilize production flow.
  • Ensure all Production Control workflows align with the Transversal Organization and integrate with CoBrand, QC/QA, Product Planning, Inventory Control, and Logistics.
Production Planning & Capacity Control
  • Govern the global production calendar; ensure factories commit to timelines and capacity constraints.
  • Monitor factory capacity vs. production load; recommend shifts to avoid bottlenecks.
  • Own PO lifecycle control from issuance → production → completion; validate factory confirmations and timeline changes.
Material Readiness & Pre‑Production Control
  • Confirm raw materials, trims, and packaging availability before production start.
  • Identify shortages early and coordinate corrective actions with Purchasing and Product.
  • Ensure factories have tech packs, BOMs, and QC requirements before production begins.
Production Tracking & Exception Management
  • Monitor daily WIP, production milestones, and factory progress.
  • Flag delays, shortages, and risks; conduct root‑cause analysis and drive corrective actions.
  • Hold factories accountable for timeline adherence and documentation accuracy.
Quality Coordination & Shipment Readiness
  • Ensure factories understand QC requirements; coordinate inspection timing with QC teams.
  • Validate carton counts, packing lists, export documents, and QC clearance before handoff to Logistics.
  • Ensure zero‑surprise handoff to Logistics to prevent cost increases or shipment delays.
Cross‑Functional Communication & Alignment
  • Act as the central communication hub between Product Planning/Purchasing, CoBrand, QC/QA, Inventory Control, Logistics, Warehouse Ops, and suppliers.
  • Deliver weekly production status reports and exception summaries.
  • Ensure production timelines support launch calendars across DTC, Wholesale, and International.
  • Maintain strong alignment with the QC/QA Supervisor to ensure quality requirements are integrated into production planning.
Operational Mapping & SOP Governance
  • Own functional process mapping, ensuring all Production Control and Logistics workflows are clearly documented, accurate, and reflect true operational execution.
  • Create, maintain, and audit SOPs built from approved process maps, ensuring every procedure aligns with the company’s end‑to‑end operational standards.
  • Partner with the Sr. Manager, Business Process & Operational Alignment to validate workflows, support process governance, and uphold company‑wide operational discipline.
KPI Ownership & Business Reviews
  • Define and track Production & Logistics KPIs (Ex: OTIF production, lead‑time adherence, exception rate, documentation accuracy).
  • Prepare Monthly Business Review materials for leadership.
  • Drive initiatives to reduce delays, improve supplier reliability, and strengthen production predictability.
  • Support goal setting, process improvement initiatives, and cross‑functional alignment forums.
  • Exercise sound judgment and discretion with sensitive operational strategies.
Team Leadership & Development
  • Manage and develop the Production Control function.
  • Lead onboarding and systems training for Production and Logistics tools (Ex: SAP, NuOrder, HubSpot, EDI, PaceJet, WMS).
  • Support cross‑functional alignment with Product Planning, Inventory Control, Warehouse Ops, Sales Ops, Finance, and Sales.
  • Champion a disciplined, accountable, and solutions‑oriented team culture.
  • Perform additional responsibilities and cross functional projects as assigned to support evolving business needs, especially as the Production Control and Logistics functions continues to mature.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  • Deep understanding of apparel/manufacturing production flows, PO lifecycle, factory capacity planning, material readiness, QC requirements, and shipment readiness workflows.
  • Strong analytical capability; expert in Excel; highly proficient in ERP systems (SAP Hana S/4 preferred).
  • Ability to interpret production data, capacity constraints, and supplier performance metrics.
  • Ability to manage multiple suppliers, resolve production issues quickly, enforce operational discipline, and stabilize production timelines.
  • Ability to build new processes, tools, and workflows from scratch.
  • Strong bilingual communication skills (English/Spanish).
  • Strong cross‑functional alignment and vendor communication skills.
  • Highly organized, deadline‑driven, and detail‑oriented.
Minimum Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Business, or related field.
  • 5–7 years of experience in production control, manufacturing, or supply chain within apparel or consumer goods.
  • Proven success managing suppliers, production timelines, factory capacity, and cross‑functional workflows.
  • Strong ERP fluency (SAP Hana S/4 preferred); experience with production tracking, QC coordination, and logistics documentation.
  • Leadership experience managing logistics or production support roles; highly responsive, deadline‑driven, and detail‑oriented.
Travel/Schedule Requirements
  • Must be available to work regular business hours, with occasional overtime or weekend work.
  • Must accommodate late‑night or early‑morning meetings with international counterparts (Ex: China, Hong Kong, Netherlands).
  • Ability to travel up to 15% nationally and international for Vista office visits, management meetings, vendor meetings, sales meetings, or cross‑functional sessions (local, Mexico, U.S., or overseas).
  • US Travel Visa required.
Benefits + Pay
  • Base salary up to $9,000 MXN Net weekly based on experience
  • Annual bonus: $3,000 USD
  • Hybrid work setting
  • Wellness focused work environment, casual/lifestyle apparel work attire, one hour paid fitness time per week
  • Summer Half Days, additional incentivized paid time off.
