We are looking for a Production Development Manager to join us at ABB, Motion High Power division, Business Line Low Voltage System Drives in Pitäjänmäki, Helsinki.

In this role you will be responsible for production development in Operations team. You will lead planning, management and execution of the production development portfolio. You will lead successful production investments and development projects. You will drive innovation in our production footprint and process landscape by implementing automation improvements and new production technologies. You will ensure productivity improvement and continuous development by using LEAN principles. You place safety first and your ambition is to make quality happen. You will exceed expectations with seamless co-operation and collaboration with key stakeholders.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Leading and managing our production development portfolio
• Relentless execution of the key production development projects in collaboration with Operations team and key stakeholders.
• Driving innovation in our production footprint and process landscape by implementing automation improvements and new production technologies
• Ensuring productivity improvement with development activities
• Championing a culture of continuous improvement by deploying LEAN principles
• Ensuring that health, safety and environment requirements and targets are met

Qualifications of the role

• Several years of experience in production development management or production management role
• Experience and knowledge of frequency converters production or similar power electronics production
• You are passionate about challenging the status quo and have a demonstrated track record of operational performance improvement from a line manager role
• Experience in executing Lean principles are essential
• Team player skills and proven leadership capabilities with good customer-oriented mindset are essential
• Great collaboration and communication skills
• The ability to build new ways of working and change management, as well as work in multinational teams in a matrix organization
• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Engineering, Operations management or other relevant field
• Fluent English and Finnish language skills
