Description A.T. Still University (ATSU) is seeking a full-time exempt Program Director and open-rank faculty. This position provides innovative leadership for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. Develops and implements strategic plans for the program; represents the program in the department, college, and university; and develops community partnerships, clinical affiliate relationships, and interdisciplinary initiatives. Provides for the advancement of teaching, service, and scholarship. Supervises BSN program faculty and staff, maintains and enhances existing programs, recommends new program tracks or options, and develops and manages annual program budgets. Ensures total continuous programmatic compliance with Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) standards and State Board of Nursing (BON) regulations. Supports student recruitment, enrollment, and retention efforts, while monitoring NCLEX-RN outcome metrics. Assesses and documents educational outcomes to ensure ongoing program development. This is a Telecommute position based in the St. Louis area with required travel. Major Job Duties Assign faculty to teach courses. Supervise and mentor BSN program faculty (full-time and adjunct) and clinical coordinators. Monitor and report programmatic compliance with CCNE accreditation standards, State Board of Nursing regulations, and institutional/departmental policies and procedures. Support institutional accreditation efforts. Maintain current knowledge of relevant nursing education, healthcare industry, and accreditation/licensure standards. Assist with strategic planning for the BSN program and college, including program growth, clinical pathway expansion, and operational efficiencies. Make recommendations based on healthcare data, industry insight, and workforce trends. In collaboration with University leadership, assist with student recruitment and retention efforts. Assist with assessing nursing courses, reviewing clinical sites, and analyzing faculty/student evaluations to drive continuous curricular improvements. Track, evaluate, and report key program outcome metrics, including student retention, graduation rates, and first-time NCLEX-RN pass rates. Mentor nursing students and program faculty. Teach courses, engage in community and professional service, and participate in scholarship as defined by the Faculty Handbook. Monitor program budget and clinical resources. Make recommendations to University leadership to support fiscal sustainability and meet programmatic needs. Interview, determine scope of instruction, and recommend hiring of adjunct faculty and clinical instructors. As directed by University leadership, serve on hiring committees for full-time nursing faculty hires and, as requested, chair hiring committees. Establish and cultivate strategic relationships with healthcare clinical partners, preceptor networks, and community health agencies. Requirements Position Qualifications & Skills: Education: Earned Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution required. Preferred Education: Doctorate in Nursing (DNP, PhD, or EdD in Nursing/Higher Education) strongly preferred. Licensure & Certification: Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license. Must hold or be eligible to obtain RN licensure in state jurisdictions as required for program oversight. Leadership Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive academic leadership experience in higher education nursing programs (e.g., program director, department chair, or track lead). Accreditation & Quality: Demonstrated expertise in nursing accreditation processes, specifically with the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and State boards of nursing. Curricular Oversight: Proven track record in curriculum design, online/hybrid learning modalities, instructional quality, and NCLEX-RN outcome monitoring. Operations & Skills: Experience managing program budgets, supervising remote faculty, building clinical affiliate networks, and fostering student success.
