In this role, you will:
The Project Coordinator (Business Operations) will be responsible for supporting the business operations function of the Opal 2.0 program to help ensure the program is enabled with effective governance, reporting, secretariat, and quality assurance, supporting the achievement of overall program objectives.
Working alongside other project coordinators in the Business Operations team, you will provide program enablement support to the program’s delivery teams. This will include helping to ensure the smooth running of Opal 2.0 governance forums, providing secretariat support, and assisting in the preparation of meeting packs and minutes.
You will support the quality assurance of Opal 2.0 project data and help track project deliverable completion in line with the program’s systems engineering approach. You will assist in producing ad hoc reports as required, support the Business Operations PM in ensuring Opal 2.0 projects adhere to the program’s documentation and delivery standards, and support the administration of the program’s collaboration and document management tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence, SharePoint). Your focus will be very much on execution, organisation, and communication.
The Opal 2.0 program refers to the full modernisation of the Opal ticketing system to deliver smarter, digital-first, integrated public transport across NSW.

About You:
For you to be successful within this role you should meet with all, or most of the following criteria:
- At least 2-3 years’ experience gained as a Project Coordinator/Project Officer working in a Portfolio Management Office (PMO), ideally for technology projects.
- An understanding of the typical technology PMO functions (governance, document management, standards, reporting etc.).
- Good communicator, with an ability to manage key stakeholder relationships.
- You are pro-active, organised, have an attention to detail, are a problem solver, multi-tasker, and most of all have pride and passion in exceptional delivery.
Nice to Haves:
- Relevant tertiary qualification, and/or a PM certification (e.g. PMP, CSM, PRINCE2, Lean Six Sigma).
- Background within the transport sector would be an advantage.
This is a fixed term flexible hybrid role to 30-Jun-28. Please note, 50% of your time will be office based, from one of our home offices at Parramatta Square and/or Macquarie Park. Salary/Grade 8 – $137,511.00 to $154,055.00 + super.
