Project Engineer / Civil Engineer

Role Description This is a part-time remote role for a Project Engineer / Civil Engineer at SheDevs zw. The role involves supporting civil engineering projects from concept through implementation, including assisting with site development plans, stormwater management designs, and civil infrastructure assessments. Typical day-to-day tasks include preparing and reviewing engineering drawings and calculations, contributing to project documentation, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure design standards are met. The engineer will help monitor quality control on deliverables, provide technical input to project stakeholders, and support training or knowledge-sharing activities within the SheDevs community. Qualifications

• Civil Engineering and Civil Engineering Design skills, with the ability to apply foundational engineering principles to practical project work.
• Experience or knowledge in Stormwater Management and Site Development, including basic understanding of drainage, grading, and infrastructure planning.
• Quality Control skills for reviewing designs, calculations, and documentation to ensure accuracy, compliance, and consistency with standards.
• Bachelor’s degree or ongoing studies in Civil Engineering or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote, part-time setting, manage priorities, and meet deadlines with limited supervision.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and explain technical concepts clearly.
• Familiarity with common civil engineering design tools or software (e.g., CAD, basic hydrology/hydraulics tools) is beneficial.
• Demonstrated interest in mentoring, community building, or contributing to inclusive, mission-driven initiatives is a plus.
