Project Lead

The Mission

As a Project Lead at Root your mission is to deliver end-to-end project success and client satisfaction.

To achieve your mission, as part of the Projects team, you will lead clients through rapid, robust implementation projects on the Root platform, while leveraging and coordinating with the Solution Engineering team and the rest of the Root organisation to achieve successful implementations . Your goal is to ensure that clients have effective, accurate, error-free and swift product launches. You are the primary professional services point of contact for your clients during implementations.

To consistently achieve Root’s brand promises, you are responsible for managing the process of designing and implementing tailored product solutions on Root and keeping stakeholders informed, with the outcome to onboard and generate value for clients as quickly as possible, going above and beyond where required, and work to guarantee that project implementations meet client requirements, delivered on time and within scoped budget.

Project Delivery

• Project plans are well scoped, accurate, up to date, and communicated frequently with all stakeholders (clients and internal).

• Project and implementation risks are well identified, documented, actively managed and communicated.

• Solutions are designed with the overarching aim of rapid, effective systems integration as well as speed-to-market.

• Client meetings are effective, well structured and value-adding.

• Clients find it “easy” and “effective” to work with and launch a product on Root.

• Solutions are effectively conceptualised and solved using the existing Root-rails.

• Implementations are well tested to ensure clients experience seamless and error-free product set-ups.

• Client queries are resolved in a timely manner.

• Consistently direct clients towards adopting Root-aligned best practice.

• Managing timelines and ensuring deadlines are met

Project Administration

• Project metrics and financial controls are tracked, updated continuously.

• Projects are delivered on time and within budget, and clients are accurately billed at project milestones and monthly.

• Project / Client collateral is managed and delivered: Project Plans, Risk Registers, Change Logs etc

Project Team Collaboration and Results

• Project Leads work closely with internal teams and external contractors to ensure Root and the client have a clear, holistic systems understanding prior to and during launch, and that low risk and low maintenance solutions are implemented.

• Implementation to Support handover is completed during UAT and post launch phases

Client Management

• Primary contact-point for Enterprise clients during the implementation phase.

• Provide issue resolution and escalation. Actively leading the interaction with clients relating to incidents and or project issues during the implementation phase.

• During Implementation client solution-related queries are understood, prioritised and solved

• Perform a client post implementation Review and Feedback survey, 60 days post launch.

• Client needs and pain-points are discerned and clearly articulated to the team, during the implementation phase.

• Project Management Tool Proficiency: Experienced in utilising and configuring project management tools such as JIRA and Azure, optimising project workflows and collaboration.

• Technical Writing: Ability to produce concise and clear technical documentation, providing detailed instructions essential for the creation and maintenance of insurance software, ensuring accuracy and clarity in communication.

Qualifications and Background

• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years professional work experience

• Experience working with clients to capture and define requirements

• Experience managing end-end project delivery

Nice to haves:

• Experience working in Software Sector

• Experience in the insurance industry

• Advantageous: Data Model Proficiency: Possesses a good understanding of basic data models, including the purpose of primary keys, enhancing comprehension of system architecture and design.

• Advantageous: API and Software Integration: Familiar with APIs and software integration principles, including web-services/HTTP and SFTP, as well as proficient in utilising tools like Postman for seamless integration solutions.

• Advantageous: Web Development Skills: Basic experience in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, enabling contribution to web-based solution development and customization.
