A fast-growing, Tokyo Stock Exchange Growth Market-listed system modernization company is seeking a Project Manager (PM) to drive high-impact digital transformation (DX) initiatives.

Founded in 2020, this engineer-first company (where over 80% of staff are software engineers from 24+ countries) rebuilds indispensable mission-critical infrastructure—such as core banking systems—using cloud-native architectures, multi-cloud platforms, and proprietary AI-driven migration tools.

What You’ll Do

• Requirements & Solution Planning: Deep-dive into complex client systems to uncover true business needs, then design optimal technical architectures, roadmaps, and proposals.
• Proposal & Bid Leadership: Manage cross-functional proposal teams (engineers and partners) for large-scale, complex RFI/RFP deals.
• End-to-End Project Management: Launch and lead project teams (typically 5–8 members including senior engineers) across upstream phases and full delivery.
• Cross-Cultural Collaboration: Serve as the strategic bridge between local Japanese enterprise clients and a global, multinational engineering team.
• Solution R&D Feedback: Gather customer insights to inform the ongoing evolution of internal AI-powered conversion solutions.

What We’re Looking For

• Combined Engineering & PM Background: Approximately 5–15 years of combined software engineering and project management experience.
• Business & Profitability Perspective: Strong profit-oriented mindset ("we execute projects to drive business value and profit") backed by PMP-level methodology or practical equivalent.
• Communication Skills: Excellent logical communication in Japanese to simplify complex technical topics for client stakeholders.
• Domain Expertise: Financial domain knowledge (banking, payments, or insurance).

Nice to Haves

• PMP certification or Project Management Specialist qualifications.
• Experience leading projects around ¥10 million (~$70K+) at an SIer or SES company.
• Experience navigating complex, multi-stakeholder coordination.
• Conversational to Business English skills to thrive in an international team environment.
