Job Description:
The Project Manager delivers customer and internal projects from initiation to handover, working across Ocuco’s Project, Product and Platform pods. Depending on scale, this may involve one project spanning several pods or several smaller projects running concurrently.
The role has two equal focuses: ensuring projects deliver against their goals (planning, risk and issue management, scope and change control, cost, supplier coordination and stakeholder communication), and ensuring those goals remain aligned with contracted milestones or PI commitments.
The Project Manager works closely with Sales, Finance, Service Delivery, Professional Services (training and go-live), Customer Support, customers and third-party suppliers, using data and AI-enabled tools to support decision-making and provide transparency on project delivery. Projects span Europe and North America, with flexible working hours available to accommodate different time zones.
Reporting to a Senior Project Manager within Ocuco’s Global PMO, this role is based at our HQ in Dublin, with office attendance required 3 days per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning, Delivery & Handover
- Build and maintain realistic delivery plans against contracted milestones or PI commitments, agreed with pod leads.
- Track progress, dependencies and risks weekly; resolve blockers and escalate potential milestone delays early, providing options.
- Coordinate release, UAT, training and go-live with pods, Professional Services and Customer Support, through warranty and handover.
- Risk, Issues & Problem Solving
- Maintain risk and issue logs, identifying and escalating risks early, including scope ambiguity during refinement and planning.
- Resolve issues within agreed authority levels; escalate with a clear assessment of impact, options and recommendations.
- Scope, Change & Financial Management
- Manage delivery against agreed scope and SOW commitments, following established change-control processes.
- Track effort, costs and forecasts against budget, working with Finance on milestone invoicing and Sales when scope or expectations change.
- Stakeholders, Suppliers & Communication
- Build effective working relationships with customers, pod leads, Service Delivery, Professional Services and Customer Support.
- Produce concise, decision-oriented status reports that anticipate sponsors' information needs.
- Agree delivery plans with suppliers, monitor milestones and costs, and escalate risks to Ocuco milestones promptly.
- Data, AI & Continuous Improvement
- Use delivery data and AI-enabled tools to improve forecasting, reporting and risk tracking, applying appropriate judgement to outputs and evaluating project outcomes beyond deployment.
- Contribute to continuous improvement through blameless reviews, updates to the PMO playbook and supporting new team members.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 2+ years of experience delivering software projects with development teams in a customer-facing environment, ideally using Agile or hybrid methodologies.
- Experience planning against milestones or PI commitments, managing scope and change control, and tracking budgets and forecasts.
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills, with the ability to communicate concisely and support decision-making.
- Effective organisational and problem-solving skills, with experience working across customers, senior stakeholders, cross-functional teams and suppliers.
- Practical experience using Jira and MS Office, including MS Project and Excel.
- PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent project management certification.
- Experience using data and AI-enabled tools in project delivery, with an understanding of how AI-assisted coding, testing and agentic workflows influence delivery practices.
- Ability and willingness to travel internationally as required.
- Experience delivering eCommerce or omnichannel projects would be an advantage.
