HIRING: Project Manager - Distributed Energy Projects
Job Description
A leading provider of distributed energy and resilient infrastructure solutions is seeking a Project Manager to oversee the successful planning and execution of complex energy projects from development through commissioning.
This role will manage the full project lifecycle, coordinating engineering, procurement, construction, permitting, and stakeholder activities to deliver safe, high-quality, and cost-effective energy solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience managing energy infrastructure projects and a strong understanding of distributed energy resources, microgrids, and related technologies.

Responsibilities
- Manage distributed energy and infrastructure projects from initial planning through project closeout.
- Coordinate activities between engineering, procurement, construction, development, and commercial teams.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and implementation plans.
- Monitor project financial performance, including cost tracking, forecasting, change orders, and risk management.
- Lead internal and external project meetings and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
- Support permitting, utility coordination, and regulatory compliance activities throughout project execution.
- Manage subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and other project partners to ensure timely project delivery.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve technical, logistical, and construction-related challenges.
- Review project scope, specifications, contracts, and customer requirements to ensure successful project delivery.
- Oversee construction activities and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Support RFP responses, contractor bid evaluations, and procurement activities.
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to maintain schedule and budget objectives.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Drive successful project outcomes focused on reliability, resiliency, sustainability, and long-term value.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of project management experience in energy, construction, power generation, infrastructure, or related industries.
- Proven experience managing project scope, schedule, budget, and stakeholder expectations.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and construction personnel.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project or similar project scheduling software.
- Strong understanding of project controls, budgeting, forecasting, and contract administration.
- Experience working with subcontractors, vendors, and construction teams.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with distributed energy resources (DER), including:
- Combined Heat & Power (CHP)
- Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
- Fuel Cells
- Solar Energy Systems
- Geothermal Systems
- Microgrids
- Familiarity with utility interconnection and permitting processes.
- Experience managing EPC, design-build, or energy infrastructure projects.
- Understanding of energy resiliency, decarbonization, and sustainability initiatives.
- Experience supporting proposal development, bid evaluations, and contract negotiations.
- PMP certification or equivalent project management credential is a plus.
- Knowledge of applicable construction, electrical, and energy industry regulations and standards.
Work Environment
This is a hybrid position requiring a combination of remote work, office collaboration, and periodic travel to project sites. The Project Manager will work closely with engineering, construction, commercial, and operations teams while managing relationships with clients, utility providers, contractors, and suppliers.
Projects may include microgrids, battery energy storage systems, combined heat and power facilities, fuel cell installations, solar energy projects, and other distributed energy infrastructure solutions. The role offers the opportunity to work on innovative projects that enhance energy reliability, resiliency, sustainability, and operational efficiency for a diverse range of customers.

This is a Permanent position based out of New York, NY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60.00 - $80.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
