Project Manager: PMO Tools - I-ERP Program

Location: Hybrid
Department: I-ERP Program Management Office (PMO)
Reports To: PMO Manager, I-ERP Program

Integrated ERP is the largest business transformation at Ford with the goal to adopt Best-in-class processes for Finance and Purchasing organizations and deliver an integrated solution with near real time data and drill down capabilities. This will provide efficiencies and valuable business insights to make the right strategic decisions.

We are seeking an experienced Jira, Confluence, and Power BI professional to support Ford’s SAP transformation program. This role combines hands-on platform expertise with SAP project management knowledge to deliver reliable work tracking, release planning, governance, and executive reporting.

The successful candidate will design and maintain Jira configurations, Confluence content, and Power BI reporting solutions that reflect the program’s delivery processes. The role requires a strong understanding of SAP RICEFW development, dependencies, milestones, and release management, along with the ability to identify reporting discrepancies, explain their causes, and implement corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities

Jira and Confluence Architecture and Administration

  • Design, configure, and maintain Jira projects, issue types, workflows, custom fields, screens, boards, and automation rules in coordination with enterprise administrators.

  • Establish consistent issue hierarchies and relationships to support SAP delivery, including RICEFW Epics and associated development, testing, and approval Stories.

  • Develop and maintain advanced JQL queries, shared filters, Rich Filters, and dashboards.

  • Configure and maintain Jira Plans/Advanced Roadmaps to support release planning, milestones, dependencies, and cross-team visibility.

  • Maintain Confluence spaces, templates, and documentation supporting program governance, delivery standards, and user guidance.

  • Evaluate configuration changes for their impact on existing workflows, reporting, and user experience.

SAP Program and RICEFW Delivery Support

  • Translate SAP program management requirements into practical Jira structures and reporting solutions.

  • Support tracking of Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, and Workflows throughout their delivery lifecycle.

  • Provide visibility into functional specifications, technical specifications, build, unit testing, approvals, and release readiness.

  • Maintain consistent tracking of ownership, status, release assignments, milestones, and dependencies.

  • Partner with PMO, functional, technical, and testing leads to align tool behavior with agreed delivery processes.

  • Support Agile, waterfall, and hybrid delivery approaches within the SAP program.

Power BI Development and Integration

  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for program leadership, workstream leads, and delivery teams.

  • Integrate data from Jira, SharePoint, Excel, and other approved program data sources.

  • Build and maintain data extraction and transformation processes using Power Query and M, including API-based Jira ingestion where applicable.

  • Develop semantic models with appropriate relationships, date tables, and consistent reporting dimensions.

  • Create and troubleshoot DAX measures for scope, completion, overdue work, milestone performance, release readiness, and other program metrics.

  • Implement reporting logic using the appropriate Jira fields, including issue type, Fix Version, Component, status, and Epic/Story relationships.

  • Maintain accurate distinct counts and prevent duplicate records or incorrect relationships from distorting results.

  • Configure report filters, slicers, drill-through, and navigation to support both executive summaries and detailed analysis.

  • Manage publishing, scheduled refresh, credentials, workspace access, and row-level security where required, in coordination with enterprise platform owners.

  • Diagnose blank visuals, incorrect totals, missing releases, refresh failures, and discrepancies between Jira and Power BI.

  • Document data sources, transformations, metric definitions, and refresh dependencies.

Reporting, Data Quality, and Governance

  • Build reliable dashboards that communicate progress, risks, dependencies, bottlenecks, and delivery exceptions.

  • Audit Jira data for missing fields, inconsistent statuses, incorrect release assignments, duplicate records, and incomplete relationships.

  • Reconcile Power BI results against Jira source records and agreed program scope.

  • Distinguish among source-data issues, configuration defects, transformation errors, and reporting-logic problems.

  • Explain discrepancies clearly to business and technical stakeholders and drive corrective actions through resolution.

  • Establish consistent metric definitions and reporting standards across teams and releases.

  • Support PMO governance and leadership reviews with accurate, traceable information.

Required Skills and Experience

  1. 5+ years of hands-on Jira and Confluence administration, configuration, and solution development experience.
  2. 3+ years of SAP program or project management experience, with an understanding of SAP implementation delivery and RICEFW processes.
  3. Demonstrated hands-on Power BI development experience, including Power Query, M, DAX, semantic modeling, and Power BI Service.
  4. Strong proficiency in Jira Cloud configuration, JQL, workflows, automation, custom fields, and issue relationships.
  5. Experience with Rich Filters, advanced dashboards, and Jira Plans/Advanced Roadmaps.
  6. Experience integrating Jira and other enterprise data sources into reporting solutions.
  7. Ability to investigate and correct data-quality issues, configuration problems, and inaccurate reporting.
  8. Understanding of release planning, milestones, dependencies, and executive program reporting.
  9. Ability to explain technical findings and corrective actions clearly to nontechnical stakeholders.
  10. Experience working within enterprise access, security, and change-control processes.

Nice-to have skills

  1. Relevant Atlassian certifications.
  2. Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate or equivalent demonstrated expertise.
  3. Experience with ScriptRunner and advanced Jira extensions.
  4. Experience with REST APIs, JSON, pagination, and API authentication.
  5. Familiarity with SharePoint, Power Automate, and SQL.
  6. Knowledge of SAP Activate and SAP S/4HANA implementation programs.
  7. Experience supporting SAFe, Agile, waterfall, and hybrid delivery environments.
  8. Experience supporting large, global programs with multiple workstreams and release cycles.

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving.
  • Attention to detail and accountability for reporting accuracy.
  • Ability to challenge inconsistent data and assumptions constructively.
  • Clear communication with executives, program managers, and technical teams.
  • Ability to prioritize competing requests and work independently.
