About the Role:
As the Project Manager – Store Operations, you will manage the execution of key Store Operations initiatives and create capacity for senior leaders by bringing structure, coordination, and follow-through to complex work. You will translate priorities into clear project plans, coordinate work across multiple teams, track decisions and dependencies, identify risks, and ensure commitments move forward from planning through implementation.
You will work closely with the EVP, Chief Store Operations Officer, Store Operations leadership team, the Enterprise Transformation Office, and cross-functional partners to create visibility across priorities and help ensure the organization is focused on the work that will have the greatest impact on Operators and the business.
You are highly organized, action-oriented, and comfortable working in an environment where priorities can shift quickly. You can move between the details of project execution and the broader business objective, bring clarity to ambiguous situations, and build strong partnerships across functions and levels of the organization. The Project Manager will report to the EVP - Chief Store Operations Officer.
Responsibilities Include:
- Manage the execution of key Store Operations projects and initiatives by developing project plans, establishing milestones, coordinating deliverables, tracking dependencies, identifying risks, and keeping work on schedule.
- Partner with the Enterprise Transformation Office to align Store Operations initiatives with broader enterprise priorities, transformation efforts, governance, timelines, and ways of working.
- Coordinate cross-functional initiatives involving Store Operations, Purchasing & Merchandising, Marketing, Business Technology, Supply Chain, Real Estate, Finance, Human Resources, the Enterprise Transformation Office, and other business partners.
- Support projects and initiatives that impact Independent Operators and store execution, which may include Operator initiatives, new programs and processes, technology implementations, training and communication efforts, store openings and remodels, and other operational priorities.
- Translate Store Operations priorities into clear workplans, timelines, owners, milestones, and deliverables that enable effective execution.
- Maintain visibility across the Store Operations project portfolio, helping leadership understand project status, upcoming milestones, competing priorities, dependencies, and areas requiring attention.
- Prepare agendas, project updates, executive briefings, presentations, dashboards, decision documents, and other materials for the Chief Store Operations Officer, Store Operations leadership team, and other senior leaders.
- Facilitate project meetings and working sessions, ensuring discussions result in clear decisions, owners, timelines, and next steps.
- Maintain action logs, decision trackers, project dashboards, risk registers, meeting summaries, and other tools that reinforce accountability and follow-through.
- Track key decisions, owners, due dates, risks, dependencies, escalations, and follow-up actions to help ensure work continues moving between meetings.
- Partner with Store Operations leaders and cross-functional teams to identify implementation requirements and ensure initiatives are translated into practical plans that can be successfully executed in the field.
- Support implementation and launch readiness for initiatives impacting stores and Operators by coordinating timelines, communications, training, technology, operational readiness, and other dependencies across participating teams.
- Help identify potential impacts to Operators and stores early in the project lifecycle and ensure appropriate Store Operations stakeholders are engaged in planning and decision-making.
- Support prioritization across multiple Store Operations initiatives by helping leaders identify competing timelines, resource constraints, dependencies, and potential tradeoffs.
- Anticipate potential issues before they become problems, escalate risks appropriately, and work with project teams to identify practical solutions that keep initiatives moving forward.
- Identify opportunities to improve Store Operations project management processes, workflows, documentation, and ways of working to create greater consistency and efficiency.
- Coordinate external vendors and business partners, as needed, including timelines, deliverables, implementation requirements, and project follow-up.
- Build strong relationships with Store Operations leaders, field teams, Operators, the Enterprise Transformation Office, and cross-functional partners through reliable execution, clear communication, responsiveness, and follow-through.
- Support special projects and other Store Operations priorities as assigned.
About The Pay:
- Base Salary Range: $125,000 - $145,000 Annually

About You:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Project Management, Retail Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.
- 5+ years of experience managing projects, cross-functional initiatives, or operational programs in a retail, grocery, multi-unit, corporate operations, or similarly fast-paced environment.
- Experience managing projects from planning through implementation, including developing project plans, managing timelines and deliverables, tracking dependencies, identifying risks, and coordinating cross-functional teams.
- Strong business acumen with an understanding of how corporate initiatives translate into field or store execution.
- Retail, grocery, multi-unit operations, or other field-based operating experience strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting senior leaders and preparing clear, concise presentations, status updates, and other materials for leadership audiences.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to create structure and clarity in ambiguous or evolving situations and adjust quickly as business priorities change.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to synthesize information and communicate project status, risks, decisions, and next steps clearly.
- Strong relationship-building and influencing skills with the ability to work effectively across functions and levels without relying on formal authority.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to anticipate obstacles, identify solutions, and keep work moving forward.
- Comfortable balancing strategic context with hands-on project execution and willing to roll up their sleeves to support the work when needed.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management, collaboration, presentation, and reporting tools.
- Experience with project management methodologies or tools such as Asana, Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, Monday.com, or similar platforms preferred.
- Project management certification, such as PMP, is a plus.
