Hiring: Public Health Communication Specialist

We are looking for a creative and experienced Communication Specialist to support a Children and Youth with Special Healthcare Needs program.

The ideal candidate will have strong writing, content creation, digital communication, and community engagement skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop communication plans, newsletters, and social media campaigns.

• Create flyers, brochures, and digital materials using Canva.

• Update and maintain program websites.

• Collaborate with healthcare professionals and community partners.

• Develop community stories, interviews, photos, and videos.

• Track communication performance and report engagement metrics.

• Ensure digital content meets accessibility standards.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent portfolio.

• 2–5 years of relevant communications experience preferred.

• Proficiency in Canva and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

• Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.

• Experience with social media, newsletters, and website content.

• Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA and Section 508 accessibility standards, or willingness to learn.

• Experience with graphic design samples and writing samples.
