The company works closely with major construction firms and home builders nationwide, providing a wide range of doorsets and a highly regarded service offering.

From hollow core and solid to primed, veneered, and fire-rated doorsets, Carroll Joinery manufactures products to meet diverse project specifications.

Based in Kilkenny, the manufacturing plant uses high-quality materials to ensure consistent standards and reliable supply. Local manufacturing in Ireland enables dependable lead times of approximately 4–6 weeks from order, supporting strong relationships with customers and partners.

Role Description:

This is a full-time role for an experienced Purchasing Manager, based in the Kilkenny/Tipperary area or environs.

The Purchasing Manager will oversee sourcing and procurement of materials, components, and services required for doorset manufacturing, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and reliable supply.

Day-to-day responsibilities include managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts and pricing, monitoring inventory levels, and coordinating with production, logistics, and sales teams to meet project deadlines.

The role involves analyzing usage and demand, forecasting requirements, and maintaining accurate purchasing records and reports.

The Purchasing Manager will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, support compliance with company policies and industry standards, and help optimize procurement processes to enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Strong procurement and purchasing skills, including supplier sourcing, negotiation, contract management, and cost control.
  • Experience in inventory management and materials planning, preferably within manufacturing, construction, or related industries.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities, with proficiency in using spreadsheets, ERP systems, or purchasing software.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with production, logistics, and sales teams.
  • Proven organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple orders and deadlines.
  • Understanding of construction products or building materials; knowledge of doorsets or joinery manufacturing is an advantage.
  • Relevant qualification in supply chain management, business, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment, demonstrating reliability, accountability, and comfort with both on-site and remote work.
