Currently, around 4,000 employees are working at CARIAD on the digital transformation of the car. CARIAD is working intensively on the software and technology platform for Premium Platform Electric (PPE). The first vehicles based on PPE will be the electric Porsche Macan and Audi Q6 e-tron. At the core of CARIAD is the development of the unified and scalable software and technology platform E³ 2.0 for all Group brands. E³ stands for ‘end to end electronics architecture’. The new software and technology platform is built from scratch and will be used first at the end of 2024 in Artemis, the lighthouse project of Audi. As of 2026, E³ 2.0 is due to be scaled by the Volkswagen brand with Trinity in the volume segment.

About our Group

CARIAD COE (Centre of Excellence) is setup in Bangalore, India working exclusively with CARIAD and associated VW groups with the focus on development of ‘VW.OS”. The areas of work involve development of platform components such as firmware, boot loaders, AUTOSAR, Linux/QNX BSP, Service oriented architecture-based middleware components.

Role Overview

We are looking for an Embedded Software & Connected Vehicle Developer with strong expertise in Python, Microsoft Azure Cloud, Databricks and OTA (Over-the-Air) updates to support the development, deployment, and operation of connected vehicle and data collection solutions. Experience with C++ and Automotive Operating System (AOS) is good to have. The role involves software development, cloud integration, deployment planning, OTA rollout coordination, troubleshooting, and operational support across vehicle and cloud ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities

· Develop software solutions and automation tools using Python (mandatory) for connected vehicle and data collection platforms.

· Design and implement scalable deployment concepts, procedures, and operational guidelines for cloud and vehicle ecosystems.

· Establish and improve deployment and release processes for vehicle and cloud-based solutions.

· Support rollout, configuration, commissioning, and operationalization of new capabilities.

· Develop and maintain cloud-based integrations using Microsoft Azure Cloud (mandatory), APIs, SDKs, and cloud services for vehicle-to-cloud data integration.

· Manage and support OTA (Over-the-Air) deployments (mandatory), software updates, rollout coordination, and device lifecycle management.

· Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, incident management, and issue resolution during deployment and operational activities.

· Apply knowledge of C++ and Automotive Operating System (AOS) to support embedded software integration and connected vehicle solutions; these skills are good to have.

Responsibilities & Ownership

· Own implementation and deployment-related technical decisions for connected vehicle and cloud-based solutions.

· Drive Python-based development, scripting, and automation to support deployment and operational workflows.

· Manage and coordinate OTA (Over-the-Air) deployments, software updates, rollout planning, and device lifecycle management.

· Develop and maintain cloud integrations and services using Microsoft Azure.

· Drive troubleshooting, root cause analysis, incident management, and issue resolution across vehicle and cloud environments.

· Ensure deployment readiness, software quality, and compliance with established processes.

· Support release approvals, rollout coordination, and deployment sign-off.

Required Skills

· Strong Python development and automation expertise — mandatory.

· Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud services and cloud-based integrations — mandatory.

· Hands-on experience with OTA (Over-the-Air) updates, deployment, and rollout management — mandatory.

· Experience with cloud APIs, SDKs, and vehicle-to-cloud data integration.

· Linux development and troubleshooting skills.

· Good understanding of deployment processes, software quality, and operational support.

· Basic knowledge of network topology and IT security fundamentals.

Good to Have Skills

· C++ development for embedded software.

· Automotive Operating System (AOS) knowledge.

· Mender for OTA deployment and device lifecycle management.

· Databricks, including programmatic integration using APIs, SDKs, and Python.

· CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.

· ADAS or vehicle data collection platforms.

· Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) and IoT ecosystems.

· Docker and Kubernetes.

· CAN, Ethernet, and automotive communication protocols.

· Telemetry, fleet monitoring, and cloud-based data engineering workflows.

· Cybersecurity and secure OTA mechanisms.

· Jira, Confluence, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
