We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Software Engineer with 8–12 years of experience in designing, building, deploying, and operating scalable, secure, and resilient cloud-native applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java, Python, AWS, Kubernetes, microservices architecture, and DevOps, with a proven ability to lead technical design and drive engineering excellence across complex systems.
The candidate will take end-to-end ownership of services and technical solutions, provide architectural direction, establish engineering standards, and drive continuous improvement across platforms and teams. This role requires a hands-on technical leader who can balance business priorities, customer value, cost efficiency, system reliability, and long-term technical sustainability while mentoring engineers and influencing technical decisions across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, deploy, and operate cloud-native, microservices-based applications and platforms throughout the complete software lifecycle.
Lead architecture, technical design, and implementation decisions for complex systems, critical components, and distributed applications.
Own service and team-level delivery outcomes, ensuring quality, reliability, scalability, security, and long-term maintainability.
Define and drive technical strategy, architectural evolution, and continuous improvement of platforms and systems.
Establish, promote, and uphold engineering standards, secure coding practices, testing strategies, and operational excellence.
Lead the implementation and optimization of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, deployment strategies, and production operations.
Design, implement, and administer Kubernetes-based solutions, including deployment, scaling, monitoring, resilience, and troubleshooting.
Drive end-to-end DevOps ownership, including development, testing, deployment, observability, incident management, and production support.
Identify, prioritize, and reduce technical debt, architectural bottlenecks, operational risks, and systemic dependencies across services and teams.
Make informed technical decisions by considering customer value, business impact, operational costs, performance, and long-term sustainability.
Lead code reviews, architecture reviews, technical discussions, and engineering initiatives to improve software quality and delivery effectiveness.
Mentor and develop engineers, share technical knowledge, and support the professional growth of team members.
Collaborate with architects, product owners, business stakeholders, and cross-functional Agile teams to clarify system context, dependencies, and technical priorities.
Manage certificate lifecycles and ensure secure certificate provisioning, renewal, rotation, and monitoring.
Contribute to engineering culture, technical governance, and organization-wide initiatives through deep technical expertise and leadership.
Required Technical Skills
Java: Strong hands-on experience with Java 11 or higher, object-oriented programming, concurrency, collections, performance optimization, and application design.
Python: Practical experience developing automation, backend components, utilities, or supporting services using Python.
