Contract: Permanent. Full time - 36.5 hours pw

About The Role
The qualifications and apprenticeship landscape is changing, and this is an exciting opportunity to help shape AIM's response.
As a Qualification and Assessment Developer, you'll work across the full lifecycle of AIM's qualifications, apprenticeship assessment materials, learning resources and supporting products. From developing something new to reviewing and improving an existing product, you'll help ensure everything we offer is relevant, robust, fit for purpose and meets regulatory requirements.
You'll work closely with colleagues, employers, training providers and industry specialists to understand what the sector needs and translate that insight into high-quality qualifications and assessments.
This isn't simply about maintaining what already exists. You'll have the opportunity to influence what comes next and see the impact of your work on learners, employers and education providers.
What you will be doing
You'll design, develop, review and maintain regulated qualifications, apprenticeship assessment materials and bespoke products, creating robust assessments, resources and supporting documentation that meet both regulatory requirements and the needs of the sectors we serve.
You'll manage development projects through the full product lifecycle, from initial concept and research through to development, implementation and review. This will include contributing to portfolio reviews and responding to changes in regulation, apprenticeship standards, assessment plans and market demand.
Collaboration will be a big part of the role. You'll work with employers, training providers, industry specialists and colleagues from across AIM, bringing together different perspectives and using them to develop products that are credible, relevant and genuinely useful.
You'll also use your specialist knowledge to support the wider organisation, helping colleagues understand qualification and assessment requirements and contributing to AIM's continued growth and development.
Who we are looking for
We're looking for someone with strong knowledge of the UK qualifications and apprenticeship landscape who understands what makes a high-quality qualification and assessment.
You'll need experience of qualification and assessment development, including apprenticeships, alongside a good understanding of assessment principles such as validity, reliability and appropriate assessment practice.
You'll understand relevant regulatory frameworks and bodies, including Ofqual, and be comfortable interpreting requirements and translating them into practical qualification and assessment design.
Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills are important. You'll be managing multiple priorities and working with employers, providers, industry specialists and colleagues, so you'll need to be organised, confident communicating at different levels and comfortable working to deadlines.
Essential Requirements
To be considered for this role, you'll need:
- Experience of qualification and assessment development, including apprenticeships.
- Strong knowledge of assessment practices and principles, including validity and reliability.
- A good understanding of the UK qualifications landscape, market and relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Experience of successfully managing projects and working with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Confident digital and Microsoft Office skills.
Desirable Experience
Experience of working within an Awarding Organisation or End-Point Assessment Organisation would be advantageous, as would experience of working directly with employers, industry groups or apprenticeship stakeholders.
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience would be beneficial, alongside evidence of continued professional development and experience of contributing to operational or strategic objectives.
Why Join AIM?
At AIM, the work you do has a purpose. The qualifications and assessments you help create can support learners to develop new skills, progress in their careers and access opportunities.
You'll have the opportunity to influence our growing portfolio, work across different sectors and collaborate with colleagues, employers and industry experts who bring a wide range of knowledge and experience.
We offer a supportive and collaborative working environment, homebased and flexible working, opportunities for professional development and the chance to build your expertise within a changing and evolving skills landscape.
You'll Also Receive:
