Ellsworth Corporation, a global, industry leading distributor of specialty chemicals and equipment and adhesive manufacturer currently has a Quality Engineer opportunity. This role reports into SCD, an Ellsworth Corporation company, located in Germantown, WI. The ideal candidate would be open to hybrid work out of either our Germantown, WI or Sparks, NV locations. We are open to considering associate/entry level canddiates as well.

This role supports the Quality Notification process for a Business Unit(s) and reviews, investigates and develops corrective actions to resolve internal and external customer quality issues in a timely manner. It also supports the development and execution of streamlined business processes which effectively identify and resolve quality issues and analyzes quality data and metrics to identify issues, trends, and opportunities for improvement, providing recommendations and implements improvements to the Quality Management System (QMS).

Responsibilities

  • Investigates root cause(s) and implements corrective/preventative actions to resolve internal or external customer quality issues related to material or processing issues for a Business Unit(s)
  • Supports the development and execution of streamlined manufacturing or business processes to mitigate identified and potential quality risks
  • Tracks corrective actions and verifies completion and effectiveness
  • Supports other departments, develops documentation and analyzes process data to optimize key performance indicators and maintain compliance to AS9120 or ISO 9001 standard. Maintains documentation in the Quality Management System and across other software systems, where required
  • Leads internal audits and participates in external audits of the QMS, including document review, interviewing company employees at all levels of the organization, corrective action assignment, follow-up and detailed report writing
  • Dispositions non-conforming material, including participation in the deviation process, and assesses costs, responsibility, and corrective action

Qualifications

  • 3 + years of experience in a Quality or Engineering-related function (0+ years of experience for associate level candidates)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field. Other equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB) preferred
  • Analytical thinking and problem solving
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize workload
  • Ability to influence and build strong relationships with cross-functional teams
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary environments
  • Familiarity with Lean principles
  • Ability to participate in problem-solving teams utilizing 8D methodology
  • Experience in the chemical industry, and/or assembly, machining, and distribution environments preferred
  • Occasional travel – up to 10%
