Summary
The RCM Project Analyst supports the Revenue Cycle Management initiatives by analyzing operational and financial data, tracking project performance, identifying process improvement opportunities, and providing actionable insights that improve reimbursement outcomes and operational efficiency. This role serves as a key partner to RCM leadership and cross-functional stakeholders by managing project reporting, developing dashboards, monitoring KPIs, and supporting strategic initiatives across areas such as prior authorization, billing, denials, appeals, collections and reimbursement optimization.
Job Responsibilities
- Collect, analyze, and interpret operational, financial, and reimbursement data for the RCM division.
- Develop recurring and ad hoc reports to support leadership decision-making.
- Identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for process improvement related to denials, appeals, reimbursement, and productivity.
- Produce reporting and visual summaries of identified trends as well as project outcomes.
- Support implementation of process improvements designed to reduce denials, improve cash collections, enhance productivity, and optimize reimbursement.
- Support the planning, execution, and monitoring of RCM initiatives and operational improvement projects.
- Coordinate with stakeholders across the RCM division to ensure project milestones are tracked and achieved.
- Measure and report performance and outcome of all projects.
- Assist in documenting business requirements, workflows, and standard operating procedures as needed.
- Create and maintain dashboards and report solutions to support RCM operations in Power BI.
- Partner with stakeholders to define reporting requirements and performance metrics.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across reporting tools.
- Collaborate with technical teams and data owners to improve reporting automation and data accessibility.
Education, Experience, and Skills
- Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
- 2-5 years of experience in healthcare operations, revenue cycle management, business analysis, or data analytics.
- Experience working with healthcare reimbursement, claims, denials, appeals, billing, or accounts receivable processes preferred.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to translate data into actionable business recommendations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Detail-oriented with commitment to data accuracy.
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a fast-past environment.
- Familiarity with AI tools and technologies and the ability to leverage them to improve productivity, data analysis, reporting, workflow efficiency, and operational decision-making.
Work Environment
This is a fully remote position. The employee will work from a home office or other suitable remote location with reliable high-speed internet access. Work is performed in a climate-controlled environment using standard office equipment including computer, phone, and video conferencing tools. Your standard work schedule and hours will be established in collaboration with your leader and may be adjusted to align with evolving business needs.
Physical Demands
This is a sedentary role requiring prolonged periods of sitting while working at a computer. Physical demands include:
- Sitting for extended periods (up to 8 hours per day)
- Repetitive use of hands and fingers for typing and mouse operation
- Visual acuity for reading computer screens and documents
- Ability to communicate effectively via phone and video calls
- Occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds (office supplies, equipment)
