One of our clients is looking for a Red Hat Engineer with hands-on experience in Red Hat Enterprise Linux and enterprise infrastructure management to support the administration, maintenance, and optimisation of its IT environments.

The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining secure, reliable, and high-performing Linux systems, automating infrastructure operations, and troubleshooting technical issues. You will work alongside infrastructure and technical teams to deliver stable and scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments.
  
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot technical issues, and implement improvements to maintain system availability and reliability.
  
• Perform system patching, upgrades, security hardening, and vulnerability remediation.
  
• Automate infrastructure administration and configuration tasks using Ansible and scripting languages.
  
• Manage system services, user accounts, permissions, storage, and access controls.
  
• Support infrastructure deployments, migrations, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
  
• Configure and maintain network services, including DNS and DHCP, where required.
  
• Support system provisioning, patch management, and lifecycle management using relevant infrastructure tools.
  
• Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, network, and security teams to resolve incidents and support operational requirements.
  
• Document system configurations, operational procedures, and technical solutions.
  
• Follow best practices for system security, infrastructure maintenance, and operational compliance.
  

Requirements

Ideal Profile

• At least 5 years of experience in Linux system administration, systems engineering, infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or a similar role.
  
• Hands-on experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments.
  
• Good knowledge of Linux system architecture, configuration, troubleshooting, and performance optimisation.
  
• Experience with system patching, upgrades, and security hardening.
  
• Familiarity with Ansible and infrastructure automation.
  
• Experience with Bash or Python scripting for administrative tasks.
  
• Understanding of networking fundamentals, DNS, DHCP, storage, and access management.
  
• Ability to troubleshoot infrastructure issues and support service-level requirements.
  
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with technical teams.
  

• Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), or equivalent certifications.
  
• Experience with Red Hat Satellite and Red Hat Identity Management (IdM).
  
• Familiarity with virtualisation technologies and cloud infrastructure.
  
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or Red Hat OpenShift.
  
• Experience with enterprise infrastructure automation and configuration management.
