At OneSchool Global UK, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of governance, compliance and accountability across our network of schools and support functions. We are now looking for an experienced Regional Risk & Compliance Manager to join our Governance, Risk & Compliance team and play a key role in ensuring the organisation remains aligned with legal, regulatory and internal compliance requirements.

This is an exciting opportunity for a compliance professional who enjoys providing independent assurance, identifying emerging risks, and helping organisations strengthen their compliance framework through monitoring, audit and regulatory oversight.

About the Role

Reporting to the Regional Director of Governance, Risk & Compliance, you will take ownership of the organisation's second-line compliance monitoring and assurance activities, providing independent oversight and challenge across the business. You'll be responsible for assessing the effectiveness of controls, conducting audits and reviews, monitoring regulatory developments, and ensuring compliance risks are appropriately identified, managed and reported.

You will also act as the organisation's Data Protection Officer (DPO), providing expert guidance on UK GDPR and data protection matters while supporting a strong culture of compliance and accountability across OneSchool Global UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead compliance monitoring and assurance activities across the organisation.
  • Conduct independent second-line audits, reviews and compliance assessments.
  • Provide assurance on the effectiveness of controls, policies and governance arrangements.
  • Monitor and assess emerging regulatory and legislative developments through horizon scanning.
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of the compliance management framework.
  • Identify, assess and report on compliance risks, trends and emerging issues.
  • Prepare reports and recommendations for senior leaders, committees and boards.
  • Act as the UK Data Protection Officer, overseeing compliance with UK GDPR and data protection legislation.
  • Provide practical compliance advice and guidance to campuses and support functions.
  • Track and monitor actions arising from audits, reviews and regulatory findings.

About You

We're looking for someone who can balance attention to detail with a pragmatic and collaborative approach. You'll be confident operating independently, building relationships with stakeholders, and translating complex regulatory requirements into practical actions.

You will ideally have:

  • Experience working within a regulated or compliance-focused environment.
  • Experience undertaking audits, compliance reviews or assurance activities.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, governance and risk management principles.
  • Experience producing reports for senior leaders, committees or boards.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of UK GDPR and data protection requirements.
  • A recognised data protection qualification (or equivalent experience).
