Remote | Aerospace CAD Expert — $40–$80/hour

We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for experienced Aerospace CAD professionals with strong expertise in mechanical engineering, aerospace assemblies, CAD interpretation, and technical documentation to contribute to an advanced AI training project focused on high-fidelity, multi-part engineering assemblies.

Selected professionals will analyse complex aerospace CAD assemblies, review native design files, and develop technically precise question-and-answer content grounded in real engineering data. The work requires strong understanding of design intent, assembly relationships, technical drawings, and objective engineering reasoning. No prior experience in AI is required.

Key Responsibilities

Aerospace Assembly Analysis

• Review complex multi-part aerospace assemblies and interpret their structure, function, and design intent
• Analyse native CAD files and associated technical information
• Identify relationships between components, subassemblies, interfaces, and functional features
• Apply mechanical and aerospace engineering principles when interpreting assembly behaviour
• Evaluate technical details with a high degree of precision and consistency

Technical Question Development

• Author objective, technically rigorous questions based on aerospace assemblies
• Develop non-guessable questions that require exact answers grounded in assembly data
• Create several high-quality questions per assembly covering important components, functions, and relationships
• Ensure questions are clear, relevant, technically defensible, and suitable for structured evaluation
• Maintain a program-agnostic approach when framing engineering questions

Answer Authoring & Technical Validation

• Produce clear, well-researched answers supported by the underlying CAD assembly data
• Verify that answers accurately reflect geometry, assembly relationships, and engineering intent
• Identify ambiguity or insufficient evidence before finalising technical conclusions
• Maintain consistency between questions, answers, and referenced design information
• Apply strong attention to detail throughout technical review and validation

Documentation & Engineering Collaboration

• Contribute to project documentation, feedback, and iterative improvement of question sets
• Communicate technical concepts clearly through written and occasional verbal collaboration
• Clarify requirements and resolve technical uncertainties with project stakeholders
• Apply standards-driven reasoning when reviewing engineering content
• Support continuous improvement of technical workflows and engineering evaluation materials

Ideal Profile

• Demonstrated expertise in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial design, or a closely related technical discipline
• Strong foundation in CAD principles and engineering design interpretation
• Hands-on experience working with multi-part CAD assemblies
• Ability to interpret complex design intent, component relationships, and technical drawings
• Familiarity with FreeCAD or similar CAD platforms, with FreeCAD experience advantageous
• Strong technical writing and communication skills
• Ability to explain engineering concepts clearly, concisely, and accurately
• Experience authoring precise technical questions and answers is advantageous
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to objective, high-quality technical work
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with distributed technical teams
• Interest in intelligent engineering-design systems and advanced technical tooling
• No prior experience in AI research or model training is required

• Part-time independent contractor engagement
• Fully remote
• Compensation: $40–$80/hour
• Work will involve aerospace assembly analysis, CAD interpretation, technical question authoring, answer development, and documentation
• Strong experience with complex mechanical assemblies and technical design interpretation is important for this engagement
