Remote | Education & Tutoring Expert — $50–$100/hour

We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for experienced education and tutoring professionals to contribute subject-matter expertise to an advanced AI training project focused on realistic teaching, tutoring, and academic-support interactions.

Selected professionals will participate in structured one-on-one educational conversations that reflect real-world tutoring scenarios. The work involves explaining concepts, adapting communication to different learners, guiding academic discussions, and demonstrating effective teaching techniques that can help improve the quality of next-generation AI systems. No prior experience in AI is required.

Key Responsibilities

Tutoring & Educational Conversations

• Participate in realistic one-on-one tutoring and educational conversations with other project participants
• Simulate common teaching and tutoring scenarios across a range of learner needs and academic contexts
• Explain concepts clearly, accurately, and in a way that supports understanding
• Answer learner questions and guide conversations toward productive academic outcomes
• Maintain natural, professional interactions representative of real-world tutoring environments

Teaching Methods & Learner Support

• Apply effective teaching techniques including questioning, active listening, clarification, and guided explanation
• Adapt explanations based on a learner's level of understanding, progress, and individual needs
• Break down difficult concepts into accessible and manageable steps
• Support learners in developing understanding rather than simply providing answers
• Demonstrate patience, responsiveness, and strong student-engagement skills

Feedback & Academic Guidance

• Provide constructive feedback in a clear, supportive, and professional manner
• Identify areas where learners may need additional explanation or reinforcement
• Adjust teaching strategies based on learner responses and comprehension
• Guide learners through questions, misconceptions, and academic challenges
• Maintain an encouraging and structured approach throughout each educational interaction

Conversation Quality & Project Standards

• Follow project guidelines to ensure tutoring conversations remain realistic and consistent
• Communicate clearly and professionally throughout paired conversation sessions
• Apply sound judgement when adapting tone, pacing, and explanation style
• Help produce high-quality examples of authentic teaching and tutoring interactions
• Maintain reliable participation and attention to detail across assigned sessions

Ideal Profile

• Professional experience as a Teacher, Private Tutor, Academic Tutor, Educator, Academic Coach, or in a closely related role
• Several years of hands-on teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or academic-support experience preferred
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to explain concepts clearly and adapt explanations to different learners
• Experience conducting one-on-one tutoring, teaching, mentoring, or academic coaching sessions
• Strong active-listening, patience, and student-engagement skills
• Ability to provide constructive and supportive academic feedback
• Comfortable participating in structured paired conversations in a remote environment
• Strong professional communication skills and ability to follow detailed project guidelines
• No prior experience in AI research or model training is required
• Based in the United States
