Remote | BigLaw lawyers — $140–$400/hour

We are sharing a specialised consulting opportunity for experienced lawyers with current or prior experience at Vault Law 100 firms to contribute to an advanced legal AI training and evaluation project involving legal analysis, research, drafting, content review, and quality assurance across a broad range of U.S. law topics.

Selected professionals will apply top-tier legal training and experience from sophisticated, high-stakes matters to review legal content, conduct research, draft and edit legal materials, and provide structured feedback on complex legal scenarios. The role requires exceptional analytical precision, strong written communication, and meticulous attention to detail. No prior experience in AI is required.

Key Responsibilities

Legal Analysis & Research

• Conduct comprehensive legal analysis across a variety of U.S. law topics
• Perform in-depth legal research to support complex project requirements
• Identify relevant legal principles, authorities, and practical considerations
• Evaluate nuanced legal questions using sound professional judgement
• Ensure analysis reflects accurate and appropriately current legal information

Legal Drafting & Content Development

• Draft, review, and edit legal memoranda, opinions, contracts, and related materials
• Apply professional legal-writing standards across varied subject areas
• Refine legal content for clarity, accuracy, structure, and analytical quality
• Identify weaknesses in reasoning, drafting, or issue spotting
• Produce high-quality written work suitable for expert-level evaluation

Legal Content Review & Evaluation

• Review legal texts for substantive accuracy and alignment with professional best practices
• Provide structured feedback on legal reasoning and written work
• Identify inconsistencies, ambiguities, unsupported conclusions, and drafting errors
• Assess whether legal materials appropriately address the underlying issues
• Maintain rigorous standards across repeated review tasks

Quality Assurance & Rubric-Based Review

• Contribute to quality assurance across complex legal materials
• Apply consistent evaluation criteria when reviewing legal outputs
• Support rubric-based assessment where relevant
• Identify recurring errors or areas requiring stronger legal analysis
• Maintain exceptionally high standards for precision and completeness

Remote & Multidisciplinary Collaboration

• Collaborate with legal, research, product, and technical contributors in a remote environment
• Participate in multidisciplinary review of complex legal scenarios
• Communicate sophisticated legal concepts clearly to varied audiences
• Incorporate feedback efficiently across iterative project cycles
• Contribute constructively to distributed project workflows and quality standards

Ideal Profile

• Mandatory current or prior experience at one or more Vault Law 100 firms
• Active licence to practise law is strongly preferred
• Strong academic credentials and top-tier legal training
• Experience handling sophisticated or high-stakes legal matters
• Demonstrated ability in legal analysis, legal research, and legal drafting
• Exposure to multiple legal practice areas is highly valuable
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Strong experience reviewing and editing legal content
• Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to legal accuracy
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively in remote and multidisciplinary environments
• Experience with quality assurance or rubric-based evaluation of legal documents is advantageous
• No prior AI-training or model-evaluation experience is required

Engagement Details

• Independent contractor engagement
• Fully remote
• Compensation: $140–$400/hour
• Vault Law 100 experience is a mandatory qualification for this engagement
• Work will involve legal analysis, legal research, legal drafting, content review, and quality assurance across a range of U.S. law topics
• Strong legal judgement, written communication, and attention to detail are central to the role
• Project scope, workload, legal subject matter, and evaluation standards may evolve depending on project requirements
• Work must be completed without using confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, law firm, institution, or other third party
