Is this job info correct?

We are sharing a specialised consulting opportunity for experienced central-bank economists, policy advisers, and senior local rates or FX strategists with deep expertise in a specific non-G7 central bank to contribute to advanced macroeconomic forecasting and AI evaluation projects.

Selected professionals will interpret central-bank communications in their original language, compare new guidance against prior policy signals and market expectations, assess implications for rates, FX, and equities, and evaluate AI-generated macro analysis. This role requires substantial country-specific expertise; broad global-macro experience without deep familiarity with a particular central bank is not sufficient.

Key Responsibilities

Central Bank Communication Analysis

  • Interpret policy statements, meeting minutes, speeches, and official communications
  • Analyse materials directly in the relevant central bank's source language
  • Identify meaningful wording changes and shifts in policy communication
  • Distinguish substantive policy signals from routine language variation
  • Apply detailed knowledge of the institution's communication conventions

Policy Guidance & Reaction Function

  • Compare current communications with prior policy guidance
  • Assess developments against prevailing market expectations
  • Analyse how new information fits the central bank's established reaction function
  • Identify changes in emphasis around inflation, growth, employment, financial conditions, or other relevant factors
  • Explain how institutional behaviour has evolved across multiple policy cycles

Rates, FX & Market Implications

  • Assess the direction and strength of policy signals using calibrated analytical frameworks
  • Explain implications for local interest rates and yield expectations
  • Analyse potential transmission to foreign-exchange markets
  • Evaluate relevant implications for domestic equities where appropriate
  • Document the economic mechanism connecting policy communication with expected market effects

Point-in-Time Macro Analysis

  • Perform analysis using only information available at the stated evidence cutoff
  • Reconstruct the judgment a strong practitioner could have made at that moment
  • Avoid hindsight and information released after the specified cutoff
  • Separate observable policy communication from analytical assumptions and expectations
  • Produce clear, structured reasoning suitable for repeatable evaluation

AI Evaluation & Research Quality

  • Review model-generated central-bank and macroeconomic analyses
  • Compare outputs against expert-authored reference assessments
  • Identify missed policy signals, weak interpretations, or unsupported market conclusions
  • Evaluate whether reasoning accurately reflects the relevant central bank's communication style
  • Provide structured feedback supporting consistent macroeconomic model evaluation

Ideal Profile

  • Former economist or policy adviser from the relevant non-G7 central bank, or senior local rates or FX strategist with equivalent expertise
  • Deep specialisation in one specific central bank rather than broad global-macro coverage alone
  • Professional fluency in the institution's source language
  • Strong knowledge of the central bank's reaction function and communication style
  • Experience interpreting policy statements, minutes, speeches, and guidance in real time
  • Typically 8+ years of directly relevant professional experience, or substantial equivalent experience
  • Experience spanning multiple monetary-policy cycles
  • Strong understanding of local rates, FX, and macro-financial transmission
  • Ability to compare official communication with prevailing market expectations
  • Background at a central bank, leading local institution, international financial institution, global-bank emerging-markets team, or established macro fund is highly relevant
  • Strong written communication and ability to document analytical reasoning precisely
  • Ability to operate under strict point-in-time information constraints
  • Brand-name institutional experience is valuable but not required where direct expertise and work quality are strong

Engagement Details

  • Independent contractor engagement
  • Fully remote
  • Compensation: $150–$250/hour
  • Work will focus on a specific non-G7 central bank rather than general global-macro coverage
  • Assignments may involve statements, minutes, speeches, policy guidance, rates, FX, equities, and market-expectation analysis
  • Professional fluency in the relevant source language is required
  • All tasks must be completed using only information available at the specified evidence cutoff
  • Hindsight, data leakage, confidential information, and material non-public information must not be used
  • Projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded early depending on project needs and performance
  • Payments are made weekly through Stripe or Wise based on services rendered
  • H1-B and STEM OPT candidates cannot currently be supported
  • Work must be completed without using confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, central bank, institution, fund, or other third party
