We are sharing a specialised consulting opportunity for experienced sell-side equity research professionals with deep sector expertise, strong publication experience, and detailed knowledge of analyst research workflows to contribute to advanced financial forecasting and AI evaluation projects.
Selected professionals will forecast when named equity analysts are likely to publish following company-specific catalysts, assess what those updates are likely to contain, and document the research processes behind post-event publications. The work requires disciplined point-in-time analysis using only information available at the stated evidence cutoff, without hindsight or material non-public information.
Key Responsibilities
Post-Catalyst Publication Forecasting
- Forecast when a named analyst is likely to publish following a company-specific catalyst
- Assess the probable form and timing of post-event research updates
- Consider earnings releases, filings, management commentary, and other contemporaneous developments
- Document the reasoning supporting expected publication timing
- Apply practical knowledge of sell-side research workflows and deadlines
Single-Name Equity Analysis
- Analyse company filings, earnings releases, transcripts, estimates, and valuation frameworks
- Assess how new information may influence an analyst's published view
- Evaluate likely changes to forecasts, assumptions, ratings, or valuation conclusions
- Distinguish material developments from information unlikely to alter published research
- Apply deep sector knowledge to company-specific analytical questions
Research Note Content Assessment
- Forecast the likely substance of a named analyst's post-catalyst research note
- Assess potential revisions to earnings estimates, price targets, and investment conclusions
- Evaluate which operating, financial, or strategic developments are likely to receive emphasis
- Explain how available information could translate into a published research position
- Document uncertainty where multiple reasonable publication outcomes exist
Research Workflow & Point-in-Time Analysis
- Explain the internal workflow that determines how and when equity research is produced
- Reconstruct the analysis a strong practitioner could have performed at the stated cutoff
- Use only information available before the specified evidence deadline
- Separate observable information from assumptions and forward-looking judgement
- Avoid hindsight, data leakage, and information released after the relevant cutoff
AI Evaluation & Research Quality
- Review model-generated equity research analyses and publication forecasts
- Compare outputs against expert-authored reference assessments
- Identify unsupported assumptions, missed information, or weak valuation reasoning
- Evaluate whether predicted analyst behaviour is consistent with realistic research workflows
- Provide structured feedback supporting rigorous financial-model evaluation
Ideal Profile
- Former lead sell-side equity analyst or highly senior equity research associate
- Direct experience personally producing post-catalyst research publications
- Deep expertise in the exact sector relevant to assigned analysts and companies
- Typically 8+ years of directly relevant equity research experience, or substantial equivalent experience
- Strong command of company filings, earnings releases, conference-call transcripts, and financial estimates
- Advanced understanding of valuation methodologies, ratings frameworks, and price-target development
- Detailed knowledge of the internal workflow behind professional equity research publications
- Experience making live analytical judgments following earnings, corporate events, or other catalysts
- Familiarity with publication timing, model updates, internal review, and post-event research processes
- Former colleagues, direct coverage competitors, or senior institutional consumers of a named analyst's research may bring particularly relevant perspective
- Strong written communication and ability to document analytical reasoning precisely
- Ability to distinguish contemporaneously supportable conclusions from retrospective interpretation
- Experience at a recognised sell-side research franchise, institutional research team, or comparable environment is valuable but not required where direct expertise is strong
