We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for experienced mental health professionals with deep expertise in child and youth abuse, trauma-informed care, clinical assessment, and ethical decision-making to contribute to an advanced AI training project focused on supporting vulnerable young populations.

Selected professionals will apply specialist clinical expertise to case-based scenarios, model-generated mental health guidance, and trauma-informed content related to young abuse survivors. The work focuses on ensuring that AI-generated outputs reflect current clinical standards, ethical principles, appropriate sensitivity, and nuanced understanding of the needs of vulnerable youth. No prior experience in AI is required.

Key Responsibilities

Trauma-Informed Case Analysis

  • Analyse and contribute to case-based scenarios reflecting the complexities of child and youth abuse victimisation
  • Apply trauma-informed clinical frameworks when reviewing sensitive mental health scenarios
  • Assess the psychological, behavioural, and contextual factors relevant to young abuse survivors
  • Identify important clinical nuances, risks, and safeguarding considerations within case materials
  • Ensure scenarios appropriately reflect real-world complexity and vulnerability

AI-Generated Mental Health Evaluation

  • Review and assess model-generated mental health guidance related to youth abuse cases
  • Identify clinical inaccuracies, ethical concerns, oversimplifications, or inappropriate recommendations
  • Evaluate whether generated responses reflect appropriate trauma-informed principles
  • Provide expert feedback on content accuracy, safety, sensitivity, and relevance
  • Help distinguish clinically responsible guidance from content that may be incomplete or unsuitable

Trauma-Informed Content Development

  • Develop and curate content outlining best practices for supporting young abuse survivors
  • Contribute clinical guidance reflecting current trauma-informed approaches and standards of care
  • Help structure high-quality examples and reference materials for AI training workflows
  • Document recommendations designed to improve system sensitivity and clinical usefulness
  • Support development of content that reflects appropriate ethical and safeguarding considerations

Clinical Quality & Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration

  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure project deliverables reflect current mental health standards
  • Participate in iterative review cycles to refine training data and improve content quality
  • Provide detailed recommendations grounded in specialist clinical experience
  • Help identify recurring gaps or weaknesses across AI-generated responses
  • Maintain rigorous standards around privacy, confidentiality, ethics, and professional judgement

Ideal Profile

  • Completed M.D., Ph.D. in Psychology, or Ph.D. in Social Work
  • Extensive clinical experience working with children or young people who are survivors of abuse
  • Primary or substantial professional focus on youth abuse, trauma, or closely related clinical work
  • Demonstrated expertise in trauma-informed care and interventions for young survivors
  • Strong clinical assessment and case-analysis skills
  • Active engagement in clinical work involving vulnerable youth or abuse-related cases
  • Strong understanding of ethical decision-making, safeguarding, privacy, and confidentiality
  • Ability to identify subtle clinical inaccuracies, risks, and inappropriate guidance
  • Excellent written communication skills and ability to provide precise, constructive feedback
  • Comfortable collaborating across clinical, research, technical, or interdisciplinary teams
  • No prior experience in AI research or model training is required

Engagement Details

  • Part-time independent contractor engagement
  • Fully remote
  • Compensation: $100–$200/hour
  • Work will involve trauma-informed case analysis, AI-generated mental health content review, clinical feedback, content development, and iterative quality evaluation
