Remote | Electrical & Circuit Design Expert — $60–$130/hour
24-MAGWe are sharing a specialised consulting opportunity for experienced Electrical and Circuit Design professionals with strong expertise in analog, digital, mixed-signal, power electronics, RF and microwave systems, semiconductor devices, computer architecture, and advanced circuit analysis to contribute to an AI training and electrical-engineering evaluation project.
Selected professionals will solve and review complex circuit-design problems, assess AI-generated technical responses, analyse real-world electrical-engineering scenarios, and provide rigorous feedback across analog, digital, mixed-signal, power, and RF domains. The work requires strong hands-on design experience, precise engineering judgement, and the ability to explain sophisticated circuit concepts clearly. No prior experience in AI is required.
Key Responsibilities
Circuit Analysis & Problem Solving
- Solve advanced electrical-engineering and circuit-design problems
- Apply Kirchhoff's laws, node-voltage analysis, phasor methods, and other standard techniques
- Analyse circuit behaviour across DC, AC, transient, and frequency-domain scenarios
- Evaluate assumptions, boundary conditions, and component interactions
- Develop technically sound and defensible engineering solutions
Analog & Mixed-Signal Design
- Analyse analog and mixed-signal circuits
- Evaluate biasing, gain, bandwidth, stability, and noise considerations
- Apply small-signal analysis and Hybrid-π models where appropriate
- Assess interface behaviour between analog and digital subsystems
- Identify design weaknesses affecting signal integrity or performance
Digital Electronics & Computer Architecture
- Review digital-logic and computer-engineering problems
- Analyse finite-state machines and timing behaviour
- Evaluate architecture-level trade-offs where relevant
- Assess digital-interface and control-logic design
- Identify issues involving timing, sequencing, or logical correctness
Power Electronics
- Analyse power-electronic circuits and conversion systems
- Evaluate switching behaviour, efficiency, losses, and thermal implications
- Review power-stage architecture and component selection
- Assess control and stability considerations
- Identify practical reliability or implementation concerns
RF & Microwave Systems
- Analyse RF and microwave circuit behaviour
- Evaluate impedance, frequency response, matching, and signal propagation
- Review high-frequency design assumptions
- Assess practical implementation and validation considerations
- Identify issues affecting performance at RF and microwave frequencies
Semiconductor Device Analysis
- Apply semiconductor-device principles to circuit problems
- Evaluate transistor behaviour and device-level constraints
- Review CMOS-related design considerations
- Assess semiconductor reliability and scaling effects
- Connect device characteristics with circuit-level performance
Circuit Troubleshooting & Validation
- Diagnose complex circuit failures or unexpected behaviour
- Use analytical methods to identify likely root causes
- Compare theoretical predictions against practical design behaviour
- Review validation strategies for hardware systems
- Recommend technically appropriate corrective actions
AI Engineering Evaluation
- Review AI-generated electrical-engineering responses
- Assess technical correctness, completeness, and engineering quality
- Identify calculation errors, weak assumptions, or unrealistic recommendations
- Provide structured feedback to improve model performance
- Distinguish substantive engineering problems from acceptable alternative approaches
Technical Communication & Collaboration
- Document engineering reasoning clearly and precisely
- Provide detailed written and verbal technical explanations
- Collaborate remotely with other subject-matter experts and project participants
- Support consistency across evaluation tasks and review criteria
- Contribute practical engineering context to AI-training workflows
Ideal Profile
- MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, or BS in Electrical Engineering with 8+ years of relevant industry experience
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in analog, digital, mixed-signal, power, or RF circuit design
- Experience contributing to hardware that has reached production or tape-out
- Strong knowledge of analog and mixed-signal design
- Strong understanding of digital logic
- Expertise in semiconductor devices
- Experience with power electronics
- Strong RF and microwave knowledge
- Familiarity with control systems
- Proven ability to analyse circuits using Thevenin equivalents, Hybrid-π models, FSMs, and timing analysis
- Familiarity with semiconductor reliability concerns
- Knowledge of EMC and modern CMOS scaling
- Experience with IC or ASIC design is advantageous
- Familiarity with EDA tools such as Cadence, Synopsys, or Mentor Graphics is valuable
- PCB design experience is beneficial
- Experience with high-speed digital or RF validation is a plus
- Professional English proficiency
- Exceptional written and verbal technical communication skills
- Evidence of rigorous problem-authoring or technical-review experience is highly valued, including standards-committee work, examination item writing, verified tape-outs, engineering competition leadership, technical awards, patents, research recognition, or comparable achievements
- No prior AI-training or model-evaluation experience is required

- Displayed compensation range: $60–$130/hour
