Remote | Finance Expert (US based) — $100/hour

We are sharing a part-time consulting opportunity for experienced finance professionals to contribute domain expertise to advanced AI research and evaluation initiatives across areas such as capital markets, portfolio management, investment research, trading, quantitative finance, investment banking, private equity, corporate finance, accounting, and related disciplines.

Selected professionals will evaluate AI models on complex finance tasks, identify areas where model performance can be improved, develop expert evaluation rubrics, and collaborate with research teams and fellow finance specialists on training methods, benchmarks, and evaluation strategies. No prior AI experience is required; professional finance expertise is the primary qualification.

Key Responsibilities

Finance Model Evaluation

• Evaluate AI model performance across specialised finance topics
• Identify areas where models demonstrate weak or incomplete reasoning
• Assess outputs for financial accuracy and analytical quality
• Apply domain-specific judgement to complex finance scenarios
• Document recurring model limitations and improvement opportunities

Financial Analysis & Problem Solving

• Apply expertise to investment analysis and corporate-finance scenarios
• Evaluate forecasting, revenue builds, and financial assumptions
• Analyse asset-management and risk-management problems
• Review transaction, deal, or M&A-related reasoning where relevant
• Apply structured problem-solving to challenging financial tasks

Rubric & Benchmark Development

• Create evaluation rubrics for specialised finance capabilities
• Define clear criteria for assessing model performance
• Develop standards for complex financial reasoning tasks
• Support benchmarking across different areas of finance
• Refine evaluation methods based on observed model behaviour

Research & Training Collaboration

• Collaborate with AI researchers and other finance professionals
• Contribute subject-matter expertise to training strategies
• Help shape evaluation approaches for finance-focused AI systems
• Provide feedback on benchmark design and task difficulty
• Support iterative improvement of finance-oriented model capabilities

Technical Communication & Quality Review

• Explain complex financial reasoning clearly in written English
• Provide concise rationale for evaluation decisions
• Identify inaccurate assumptions or unsupported conclusions
• Communicate domain-specific feedback to interdisciplinary teams
• Maintain consistent quality standards across assigned evaluations

Ideal Profile

• 2+ years of professional experience in finance
• Relevant backgrounds may include capital markets, portfolio management, research, trading, or quantitative finance
• Experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, or growth equity is also relevant
• FP&A, accounting, financial consulting, and corporate-finance backgrounds are welcome
• Strong understanding of financial concepts within your area of expertise
• Familiarity with investment analysis and financial forecasting
• Experience with revenue builds, corporate finance, or asset management where relevant
• Understanding of risk management and financial decision-making
• Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving capabilities
• Ability to evaluate complex analytical outputs objectively
• Excellent written English communication
• Comfortable explaining financial reasoning to research and technical teams
• CFA Level I, II, or III is advantageous but not required
• CA, CPA, or MBA in Finance is also advantageous
• No prior AI-training or model-evaluation experience is required

Engagement Details

• Part-time independent contractor engagement
• Fully remote
• Role is intended for US-based finance professionals
• Compensation: approximately $100/hour, depending on experience
• Flexible commitment of approximately 10–30 hours per week
• Initial project duration is approximately 1 month
• Extension may be available depending on performance and project requirements
• Flexible remote working environment
• Work will involve finance-focused AI evaluation, rubric development, benchmarking, and research collaboration
• Areas of work may include deal analysis, M&A assessment, investment research, forecasting, trading, portfolio management, accounting, and other finance domains
• Work must be completed without using confidential, proprietary, client-specific, transaction-sensitive, material non-public, or otherwise restricted information belonging to any employer, financial institution, investment firm, client, issuer, or other third party
