Renewable Energy Specialist

Role Description The Renewable Energy Specialist is a part-time remote role focused on supporting DCSS’s strategic initiatives in sustainable and low-carbon energy solutions. The specialist will research renewable energy markets, with emphasis on their application to mining operations and remote sites, and prepare concise reports and recommendations for leadership. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing wind and solar energy opportunities, assessing feasibility for integration with existing drilling operations, and identifying regional regulatory and incentive frameworks. The role involves collaborating with internal stakeholders to develop renewable energy proposals, contributing to sustainability roadmaps, and supporting external partnerships related to clean energy. The specialist will also help track technology trends, prepare presentation materials, and contribute to policy and risk assessments related to the broader energy industry.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of Renewable Energy Markets and the broader Energy Industry, with the ability to analyze trends and investment opportunities.
• Knowledge of Wind Energy applications, including project feasibility, resource assessment, and integration with industrial operations.
• Knowledge of Solar Energy solutions, including system design concepts, performance evaluation, and suitability for remote sites.
• Expertise in Renewable Energy principles and technologies, with the ability to translate technical information into clear, actionable insights.
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Renewable Energy, Engineering, Environmental Science, Energy Economics, or a related field.
• Experience in or familiarity with energy projects in industrial or mining contexts is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, research, and written communication skills, with proficiency in standard office and data analysis tools.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage part-time schedules, and collaborate effectively across diverse, multicultural teams.
