For a long-term project in the banking sector, we are looking for an experienced Requirements Engineer / Business Analyst to join an international software development team.

This opportunity is particularly suitable for professionals based in Hungary, as the project is primarily remote with occasional on-site presence in Budapest.

Your responsibilities

• Drive the requirements engineering process throughout the complete software lifecycle, from initial idea to production deployment
• Gather, analyze and align business requirements with stakeholders and domain experts
• Translate business needs into clear user stories, acceptance criteria and functional specifications
• Support the Product Owner with backlog refinement and prioritization
• Work closely with software developers to ensure a shared understanding of requirements and business objectives
• Analyze the impact of functional and technical changes on existing systems and processes
• Support testing, defect analysis and business acceptance
• Maintain clear and consistent requirements and solution documentation

What we are looking for

• At least 5 years of experience as a Requirements Engineer, Business Analyst or System Analyst
• Previous experience in banking or financial services
• Strong experience analyzing and specifying requirements for complex software solutions
• Hands-on experience creating user stories, acceptance criteria and functional specifications
• Solid SQL knowledge
• Understanding of data models, APIs and system integrations
• Good technical understanding of end-to-end processes and distributed system landscapes
• Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments
• Strong English communication skills
• Hungarian language skills are a significant advantage
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Senior-level independence and ability to become productive quickly

Nice to have

• Experience with lending, loan origination or online financing platforms
• Knowledge of loan applications, credit assessment, credit decisioning or loan servicing
• Experience with Camunda or comparable process modelling/workflow tools
• Experience with software testing, business acceptance testing and defect analysis
• Experience with Jira and Confluence
• Experience working in distributed or international teams
