As an RF/Radar R&D Engineer/Scientist Project Manager, you will lead and manage projects in our RF/Radar team in Advanced Tech, work on engineering design, and manage project proposal efforts. As a proactive Project Manager, you will partner closely with research engineers and stakeholders to independently manage projects from proposal through delivery. This role drives operational excellence through disciplined execution, fiscal accountability, and strategic value driven mindset that ensures our projects deliver measurable business impact.

As a Lead Project Engineer, you will serve as primary liaison between internal customers and the engineering research team. This role independently manages projects from intake through closure, ensuring creative deliverables are completed on schedule, within scope, and within budget.

This position requires a proactive, organized professional who can lead projects across the RF/Radar team portfolio. As a Lead Project Engineer, you will partner closely with Honeywell businesses, technical leads, and stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management: work with Project Stakeholders and business leadership to ensure successful project execution.
  • Project Leadership: guide, motivate, and direct engineering teams to achieve business goals by taking ownership of the outcomes, inspiring and aligning the team, and fostering collaboration across the organization.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in project management or systems engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience leading engineering project teams across multidisciplinary initiatives while managing multiple projects at one time.
  • Aerospace or Defense research experience.
  • Experience with Radar/RF, Antenna design, Radar signal processing, Radar system architecture, and/or phased arrays.
  • Full ownership of project proposals, budget management, resource allocation, and timeline execution.
  • Direct engagement with customers and partners to define their needs and requirements, then apply your skills to find creative solutions through rigorous analysis, engineering, and experimentation.

WE VALUE

  • An advanced degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline, such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
  • Effectively communicate your ideas and results to research sponsors, scientific peers, and business leadership, through effective presentations, publications, and the writing of proposals.
  • Strong understanding of aircraft and avionics integration.
  • Proven ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex hardware and software technical issues.
  • High degree of creativity and independence in problem-solving and project management.
  • PMP project management certification.

  • Due to contractual requirements and compliance with US export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a US Person, a US citizen, or a US permanent resident.

The annual base salary range for this position in Minnesota is $137,000-172,000. For Washington and California, the annual base salary range is $157,000-197,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
