Show job description

Join Axpo Nordic in Oslo and help turn complex market data into clear insights that guide our trading and risk decisions. If you're quantitatively minded, curious, and keen to grow in energy risk management, we'd love to hear from you.

What you will do:

  • Analyse market, portfolio and position data, monitoring risk measures and limits to identify and explain exposures

  • Prepare risk and P&L reports, investigating changes in exposure and P&L and communicating key drivers to stakeholders

  • Contribute to the development, validation and improvement of risk models, methodologies and analytical tools

  • Build and improve data workflows, dashboards and reports, using automation and AI tools to support reliable, efficient analysis

  • Work closely with risk colleagues across the organisation and with trading and origination teams to improve risk analysis, reporting and related processes

What you bring & who you are:

  • A degree in a quantitative discipline such as economics, finance, engineering, mathematics, statistics, physics or a related field

  • A strong analytical mindset and confidence working with data and quantitative problems

  • Practical experience using data-analysis tools such as Python, SQL, Excel and Power BI – familiarity with Databricks is an advantage

  • A genuine interest in energy markets and risk management; prior experience in either area is an advantage, but not a requirement

  • Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain analytical findings to both technical and non-specialist colleagues

  • Professional fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in risk management, quantitative analysis, or risk modelling. Even if you don't meet all the requirements, we look forward to your application – recent graduates with strong quantitative skills and a clear interest in energy markets are encouraged to apply.

About the team: You'll join a close-knit Risk team in Oslo that works hand in hand with trading and origination colleagues across Axpo. We value curiosity, structured thinking and open collaboration, and support every team member's development.

At Axpo Group, we are dedicated to fostering a culture of non-discrimination, tolerance, and inclusion.
