About Windcave:

Windcave is a global leader in payment technology, offering a unified platform that consolidates all payment solutions into a seamless ecosystem. Operating in 42 countries with offices in 13 locations, we process billions of transactions annually, providing businesses with a comprehensive payment solution through a single provider. Our team of over 450 professionals supports more than 57,000 merchant locations globally, driving innovation and ensuring scalability in a fast-paced, tech-driven environment. Join us to shape the future of global payments and experience the cutting edge of financial technology.

The Opportunity

You'll be the compliance lead for Malta, the person the MFSA and BoM deal with, the person the Board hears from, and the person who sets the standard for how Windcave operates in a regulated European environment. You'll have autonomy to build, improve, and own not just maintain someone else's framework.

This role suits someone who finds energy in being the expert in the room, not the one waiting for instructions.

What you'll do

  • Lead all MFSA and Central Bank of Malta regulatory reporting and relationship management
  • Prepare board-level compliance and risk reports for directors and executive stakeholders
  • Own and evolve Windcave's risk and compliance frameworks in Malta, aligned with global standards
  • Keep policies, procedures and controls current, effective and well-embedded across the business
  • Act as local Data Protection Officer, partnering with the global DPO on GDPR compliance
  • Manage internal and external audits and regulatory reviews end-to-end
  • Build a compliance-aware culture through training and day-to-day support for local teams

What We’re Looking For

  • 3–5+ years in a compliance or risk role within financial services - payments
  • Solid working knowledge of MFSA regulations and BoM reporting requirements
  • Proven track record of managing regulators and handling audits independently
  • Strong written and verbal English; Maltese is a welcome bonus
  • Good working knowledge of GDPR and data protection obligations
  • Relevant qualification in law, compliance, finance or business (CAMS, ICA, or law degree advantageous)

Why Join Windcave?

  • Hybrid working - 4 days in our Malta office, 1 from home
  • Clear career progression path within a growing global business
  • Regular team events and a genuinely collaborative culture
  • Mentoring opportunities and exposure to a global compliance team
