Risk Management & Analytics Manager (Remote – Brazil)

About the Opportunity

We are looking for a highly analytical and hands-on Marketplace Risk & Quality Manager to join a fast-growing, technology-driven company operating in the mobility and logistics industry.

This is a unique opportunity to build and own a Risk Management function from the ground up, developing scalable policies, operational controls, and data-driven strategies that improve marketplace safety, strengthen compliance, and reduce financial exposure.

The ideal candidate combines strong experience in Risk Management with advanced analytical capabilities, technical proficiency, and the ability to influence stakeholders across different functions and countries.

This is currently an Individual Contributor position, offering significant ownership, autonomy, and visibility within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Risk Management & Strategy

• Establish and lead the Risk function, defining priorities, policies, KPIs, and operational processes.

• Identify, assess, and mitigate risks across a technology-enabled marketplace.

• Develop scalable risk management frameworks and preventive controls.

• Monitor risk exposure and translate findings into actionable business recommendations.

Marketplace Quality & Compliance

• Design and implement quality and risk policies for independent service providers.

• Establish rules for quality monitoring, restrictions, suspensions, and platform access.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support consistent policy enforcement and automation.

• Support regulatory compliance and operational alignment across different markets.

Data Analytics & Technology

• Analyze operational, behavioral, and risk-related data to identify trends, anomalies, and potential threats.

• Use analytical tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, Business Intelligence platforms, and AI-assisted solutions to support decision-making.

• Develop or contribute to dashboards, reports, and risk performance indicators.

• Identify opportunities to automate controls and improve operational efficiency.

• Partner with Data and Product teams to translate analytical insights into scalable solutions.

Risk Prevention & Financial Impact

• Investigate operational incidents, claims, and potential causes of financial losses.

• Identify recurring patterns and develop preventive initiatives.

• Monitor the financial impact of risk-related events and recommend cost-reduction strategies.

• Measure the effectiveness of risk controls and communicate results to leadership.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Operations, Data, Product, Legal, Account Management, and other stakeholders.

• Present complex risk findings and recommendations to different audiences.

• Influence business decisions through data-driven insights.

• Collaborate with international teams to implement consistent risk management practices.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Law, Computer Science, or a related field.

• 4+ years of professional experience in Risk Management, Trust & Safety, Compliance, Insurance, Fleet Risk, Marketplace Operations, or related functions.

• Demonstrated professional experience working directly within a Risk function.

• Proven experience designing, implementing, or improving risk management policies, controls, or operational processes.

• Strong analytical skills and experience translating complex data into actionable decisions.

• Hands-on proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.

• Practical experience working with data analytics, reporting, or dashboarding tools.

• Ability to independently manage projects, establish processes, and drive measurable business outcomes.

• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.

• Fluent English, with the ability to communicate confidently and present findings to international stakeholders.

• Availability to work Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM CST (UTC−6).

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in fintech, digital marketplaces, e-commerce, mobility, delivery platforms, or logistics.

• Experience in Risk Strategy, Operational Risk, Fraud & Risk, or Trust & Safety within technology-driven businesses.

• Hands-on experience with SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau, Superset, or similar analytical tools.

• Experience leveraging AI tools such as Claude to support analysis, productivity, or operational workflows.

• Experience working with telematics, driver behavior data, or fleet safety programs.

• Knowledge of insurance claims, incident investigation, loss prevention, or cost-reduction initiatives.

• Experience implementing automated risk controls or rule-based monitoring systems.

• Previous experience building a new function, process, or operational framework.

• Valid U.S. visa for potential business-related travel.
