Robotics Engineer Jobs Uruguay (Remote)
Rex.zone is hiring a mid-senior Robotics Engineer to build, integrate, and deploy reliable robotic systems across perception, localization/SLAM, planning, and control. You will develop ROS/ROS2 software, integrate sensors, and validate performance in simulation-first workflows with scheduled hardware integration/testing windows.
Key Responsibilities
$30–$50 per hour (USD, HOURLY).
Pay may vary based on skills depth (ROS2/SLAM/planning) and system scope.
How To Apply
Apply via Rex.zone with a resume highlighting robotics projects and measurable outcomes (e.g., latency reduction, improved navigation success rate, reduced drift). Include GitHub, demos, or technical write-ups when available.

You will develop ROS/ROS2 software, integrate sensors, and validate performance in simulation-first workflows with scheduled hardware integration/testing windows.
Key Responsibilities
- Own robotics software components for perception, localization/mapping, planning, and control
- Integrate and calibrate sensors (LiDAR, cameras, IMU, encoders) and implement time sync/filtering/sensor fusion
- Develop and tune control loops (PID/MPC as applicable) for navigation/manipulation/actuation
- Implement and evaluate SLAM/localization (drift, loop closure, recovery behavior)
- Build simulation and test harnesses (Gazebo/Ignition or equivalent) to reproduce field issues
- Define performance metrics (latency, accuracy, reliability) and drive continuous improvement
- Support hardware bring-up, embedded interfaces, and field debugging procedures
- Document architecture, interfaces, and operational runbooks
- Mid-senior experience building robotics systems in production or advanced prototypes
- Strong C++ and Python on Linux
- Hands-on ROS/ROS2 experience (TF frames, nav stack concepts, launch systems, messages)
- Robot kinematics, coordinate frames, and motion planning fundamentals
- SLAM/localization and sensor fusion (e.g., EKF/UKF)
- Debugging distributed robotic systems (logs, bag files, profiling, latency analysis)
- Docker and CI-friendly workflows
- AMRs, industrial automation, or field robotics experience
- Computer vision pipelines and calibration
- Embedded systems and device drivers (CAN/UART, real-time constraints)
- MoveIt/OMPL and trajectory optimization exposure
