Sales Executive / Business Development Executive

Role Description As an Owner at Scout VC, you will oversee the strategic direction, growth, and operations of the platform in a part-time, remote capacity. You will manage and refine the investor database, ensure data accuracy, and develop processes that keep information current and useful for founders. You will define product priorities, collaborate with technical and design partners or vendors, and shape the user experience to align with the needs of startup teams. Day-to-day responsibilities may include setting business goals, analyzing platform usage and feedback, exploring partnership opportunities with accelerators and investors, and guiding marketing and outreach initiatives. You will also be accountable for maintaining a transparent, founder-friendly culture and making decisions that support long-term platform sustainability.

Qualifications

• Experience in startup ecosystems, venture capital, or angel investing, with a strong understanding of fundraising dynamics and investor criteria.
• Background in product management, business strategy, or operations, including setting priorities, interpreting data, and improving processes.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage part-time responsibilities effectively, and make decisions with limited supervision.
• Strong communication skills for engaging founders, investors, and partners, including clear written communication and constructive stakeholder collaboration.
• Comfort with digital tools and platforms for data management, basic analytics, and remote collaboration; familiarity with marketplaces or directories is a plus.
• Demonstrated interest in open, transparent systems and commitment to equitable, non-discriminatory access to resources for diverse founder communities.
