About Plateful
Plateful is a fast-growing DTC kitchen brand building a premium portfolio of cookware and food storage products for customers across the US.
We're a 60+ person team continuing to scale quickly, with a strong focus on delivering exceptional products and customer experiences. As our business grows, so does our Sales Team and the support structure behind it.
Our Sales operation currently focuses on two key functions:
- Recovery: Re-engaging customers who abandoned their carts or experienced declined transactions, addressing purchase concerns, and recovering missed sales opportunities.
- Protocol: Connecting with customers after purchase, providing assistance, strengthening customer relationships, and identifying relevant upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
As both functions continue to grow, we're expanding our Sales support team to strengthen training, coaching, and operational leadership.
The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced Sales Trainer & Team Lead who can help develop people, strengthen performance, and bring fresh ideas to an already growing Sales organization.
This is a dual-function role supporting both our Recovery and Protocol teams. You'll work alongside two existing members of our Sales support team, collaborating on training, coaching, performance management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
You won't be coming in to build everything from scratch or manage the function on your own. You'll be joining an existing support structure where teamwork, shared ownership, and fresh perspectives are important.
We're looking for someone who can bring more than just experience. We want someone who can identify opportunities for improvement, introduce effective training approaches, challenge existing processes when needed, and help our representatives become better at what they do.
You'll play an important role in maintaining performance standards, developing our people, and making sure both Sales functions are equipped to handle the growing demands of the business.
This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys leading, coaching, and making a tangible impact on a team's performance as the organization scales.
What You'll Do
- Support Both Sales Functions: Work closely with the Recovery and Protocol teams, understanding their respective workflows, sales processes, and performance requirements.
- Train and Develop Representatives: Conduct onboarding, product training, sales training, and ongoing development sessions to help representatives improve their confidence and effectiveness.
- Coach for Better Performance: Review calls, identify performance gaps, provide actionable feedback, and conduct one-on-one coaching sessions.
- Lead Training Activities: Facilitate team huddles, role-playing exercises, workshops, call reviews, and performance discussions.
- Strengthen Sales Processes: Review existing scripts, SOPs, call guides, and training materials. Recommend and implement improvements where needed.
- Monitor Team Performance: Track key metrics such as conversion rates, recovered revenue, average order value (AOV), upsell and cross-sell performance, and overall productivity.
- Bring New Ideas and Initiatives: Identify opportunities to improve training, customer engagement, objection handling, and sales effectiveness.
- Collaborate With Existing Support Members: Share insights, coordinate initiatives, and contribute to a consistent training and coaching approach across both functions.
- Support Team Growth: Help prepare new hires for onboarding, training, and ramp-up as the Sales organization continues to expand.
- Promote Accountability: Encourage a culture of ownership, continuous learning, collaboration, and strong performance.
Who You Are
- An experienced sales leader, trainer, or coach who enjoys developing people and improving team performance.
- Someone who understands that effective training goes beyond delivering information. It requires coaching, reinforcement, and measurable improvement.
- A strong communicator who can motivate, guide, and hold representatives accountable.
- Comfortable working with performance metrics and translating data into actionable coaching strategies.
- Someone who can identify problems, introduce new ideas, and recommend practical improvements.
- Collaborative and adaptable, able to work alongside an existing support team while bringing your own perspective and leadership.
- Hands-on and execution-focused. You're willing to review calls, conduct coaching sessions, facilitate training, and work closely with representatives.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced DTC environment where processes continue to evolve as the business grows.
Requirements
- 3+ years of sales leadership experience.
- 3+ years of experience in sales training, coaching, learning and development, or sales enablement.
- Proven experience developing training programs, onboarding materials, SOPs, sales playbooks, or coaching frameworks.
- Strong understanding of sales KPIs, conversion rates, AOV, upselling, cross-selling, and performance management.
- Experience in eCommerce, DTC, outbound sales, customer retention, sales recovery, or high-ticket sales environments.
- Excellent English communication and facilitation skills.
- Strong coaching, leadership, and team development capabilities.
- Ability to analyze sales performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Shopify or CRM experience is a plus.
- Weekend Availability: Must be willing to work weekends as required by the team's schedule and operational needs.
- Graveyard Shift Availability: Must be comfortable working graveyard (GY) shifts aligned with US business hours.
Ongoing
- Strengthen representative performance through consistent training and coaching.
- Help improve conversion, recovered revenue, AOV, and overall sales effectiveness.
- Contribute new ideas and scalable processes as the Sales organization grows.
- Support the development, onboarding, and continued growth of the Sales Team.
We're growing, and we're looking for someone who can grow with us. If you're passionate about developing people, improving performance, and bringing strong leadership to a growing Sales organization, we'd love to hear from you.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive Base Salary: Compensation aligned with your experience and qualifications.
- Fully Remote Position: Work remotely and collaborate with a growing team.
- Paid Time Off: Eligible for paid leave benefits after completing 90 days of employment.
- Career Growth Opportunities: Grow alongside Plateful as the Sales organization expands, with opportunities to take on greater responsibilities and contribute to the team's development.
